Rye Miles #13621
Is your city on the list? Mine is #10,Cleveland ugh https://www.redfin.com/blog/cloudiest-cities-in-the-us/
Cypress Sun
My area is not on the list as it's generally sunny here most of the time except during the afternoon in the summer. That's when the big T-storms roll through usually and then it gets sunny and unbearably muggy. Didn't get a lot of rain/t-storms this last summer though due to El Nino but it's been a much cloudier, colder and wetter winter than normal so I guess that makes up for it. Father Kit Cool Gun Garth
@Rye Miles #13621, If cloudy weather is getting you down, here is a list of the sunniest places to live. Personally, I would prefer a mixture of both. https://a-z-animals.com/blog/discover-the-10-sunniest-cities-in-the-us-with-over-280-sunny-days-a-year/
Forty Rod SASS 3935
Used to use the clouds to predict the weather in Seattle: if you could see Mount Rainier it was going to rain. If you couldn't see the mountain it was already raining.
Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
This is one of the main reasons we left WA and moved to Texas. Endless days of rain and clouds are depressing. That, and the changing politics.

Pat Riot
I can vouch for Portland and Pittsburgh being cloudy Waaaayyyyy too many days a year. Nice thing about where I live now in northern West Virginia is we live in this perpetual higher pressure zone where clouds and precipitation veer around us. It’ll be cloudy north east & west of us but we’ll have sun. It’s not like that all the time, but it’s a lot better than 30-40 miles north of us. J.D. Daily
Similar to cloudiest places in US is foggiest place in US. Eureka CA was used by the US Army Air Corps in WWII for training cockpit crew in zero-zero visibility flying skills. I was told this by a coworker who worked out of Eureka. He had asked me to look at a diesel electric log stacker at a lumber mill north of Eureka. After twice having flights canceled after I drove to SFO the 3rd trip to airport was successful.
