From the music documentary  American Epic

Los Lobos doesn't get nearly enough recognition for how good they are.

Another from the music documentary  American Epic,  On one part of the documentary they brought in a bunch of musicians to record songs on a re-built version of the original recording machine. No editing or other tricks to make it sound better. The clarinet at the beginning of St. Louis Blues is amazing.

The New Basement Tapes was a one off project to record a bunch of unfinished Bob Dylan tunes from the 1975 album The Band - The Basement Tapes.  Dylan had no interest in doing anything with the songs so producer T Bone Burnett brought together some musicians and had them finish some of the songs.

Los Lobos has been together 50+ years and still tour.   Mexican folk, rock, whatever they play always sounds great

Here's an eight year old doing a cover on the drums to a Led Zeppelin classic

Found this on YouTube!

It was recorded in 2003!!  I reckon I ought to explain this one. We recorded two indy CDs back in the late nineties and early 2000s while we were doing a “house band” gig and touring the fraternity circuit. Our agent used them for promotional material and we sold ‘em at gigs for several years.

I wrote this song for the second CD along with a twelve bar blues number.

I agree!  My dad was friends with this guy and I think that this was one of his best!

Since we’re talking cowboy songs, here’s one by a local boy!  The guitarist is a schoolmate of mine, a former band member, (members of my band are never really “former members”) and a life long friend.

It just hit me that way when I saw you’d posted it!!  Probably more of a big smile than outright laughter!!

I preferred Roy as a singer to his work as an actor. Here’s why!
