Forty Rod SASS 3935
Impressive skill but otherwise a waste of a good pencil.
Badlands Bob #61228
That's really cool but I'm not sure how you could convert that skill to something useful. At least it doesn't take up much space.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
This is art. Just turn it over and it gets better.

I still have one of those I got as a gift When I graduated from Junior HS in 1957. Guess I'll have to go find it and see if I can find someone to sell it to. Subdeacon Joe
Amazing work. 23 hours ago, Badlands Bob #61228 said: That's really cool but I'm not sure how you could convert that skill to something useful. At least it doesn't take up much space. Why must everything be utilitarian? Enjoy it for what it is. But, if you insist on utility, a hand steady enough to do work like that would be skilled enough to do fine electrical work, jewelry, tool and die making, and, I dare say, engraving on guns. I want to see the tools the artists used to make those pieces.
Pat Riot
This pencil lead art is amazing. I am impressed with the talent and patience it would take to do these micro mini pieces of art. I’ll bet the tools are just as fascinating. Thank you Yul.

Wallaby Jack, SASS #44062
As impressive as the items carved from the carpenters pencils are; I'm most impressed with the 0.9mm and more so with the 0.5mm items that are sooooooooo long.

watab kid
its a good thing these were in photos or id never have been able to appreciate the intricacy - very fun , i cant imagine the minds that do this ......but then back when i visited the house on the rock in wisconsin [for the second time] and i culd not imagine the intricacy of the ivory carvings there , its a bit larger scale but also very minute , my wife has some things from her life in japan that are also very interesting and delicate carvings , i cant imagine that kind of fine work - even back when my eyes were good
