Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 It is official for those who love Yellowstone. Costner has quit and once the remaining episodes of Season 5 are shown the original is over. Looks like most of the cast are moving to Texas to the 6666 ranch to work for Matthew McConaughey who will play the owner of the 6666 ranch.
irish ike, SASS #43615 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I never understand why a well liked series falls apart. It's good money and your audience begs for more.
Rip Snorter Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 In this case, reportedly, a combo of clashing egos and higher priority projects.
Cypress Sun Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Not surprising. Up until the last episodes, I was enjoying the series immensely. The last episodes seemed labored and centered around highlighting (making) country music stars. I'll watch the remaining episodes and hope that the follow ups don't involve "subscribing" to a pay channel. Divorces have a way of screwing up many things, I wish Costner good luck with his,
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I think season 5 had gotten stale. Was looking like every other primetime corporate boardroom soap, like Mad Men with cowboy hats and horses.
Caladisi kid Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Just saw the last movie Roy Rodgers was in last night called Mackintosh and TJ, 1975, and a lot of the movie was at the 6666 ranch. Low key family movie.

Dusty Devil Dale Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 No loss as far as I'm concerned. What I saw in watching a couple eposodes was abundantly filthy language, abundant porn, poor understanding of large ranching, and stories that were pretty disjunct. Seemed like a fake reality TV show. Just saying. I felt like I needed to go take a shower after watching. We can do a lot better societally (just MHO) your own mileage may vary.
