Forty Rod SASS 3935
do any of you folks have any experiences with them and what is your opinion? I just picked up a beautiful 1959 vintage Colt Detective Special and always they looked kind of neat with a T-Grip on them. Normally I resist hanging crap all over my guns, but these are cheap and removable.

Adolph Vancinghand, SASS #28923
The fellow that is running Tyler's nowadays is HARD to do business with. To wit, I've been trying to get a simple answer out of him before ordering a T-grip for an old S&W Hand Ejector in .32-20...with NO REPLY. Complete radio silence. Since I wasn't sending money until I got an answer, we've been at loggerheads. I also read a number of online reviews that suggest the same sorts of problems. Best of luck if you take the plunge! Pat Riot
I have read on other forums and talked with people that have placed orders from them. They all say the same thing. The T-Grips and or the trigger shoes they order take forever to receive. One gent waited a year. 5 or 6 years ago I called them for some information. I made the attempt several times. There was no representative, answering machine or voice mail. It just rang. On my 7th or 8th attempt a guy answered. He was not pleasant. Probably because I called, put my phone on Speaker and let it ring about 30 or 40 times…maybe more. I asked about T-grips for 4 different guns. Response went something like this; “What’s it say on the website?” Me “Not enough. That’s why I’m calling you.” (sound of escaping air) Me “What are your lead times?” Guy “It depends. Could be a couple of months, could be longer.” Me “How much longer?” Guy “Depends.” (Long pause as I wait for a reason for ‘depends’…nothing) Me “Can I speak to someone else? Maybe someone that can help me with my questions?” Guy “No, I’m the only one here.” Me “Thank you for your time.” CLICK Give this guy a try. His product is plastic, but they work. I have spoken with him. Nice guy. He makes his grip adapters himself at home in his spare time. I have two of them. One on my S&W 36 and one in my S&W 10. https://bkgrips.com/ Click on the “Fitting” page to read about Colt D frames and how his product fits. Click on the “Order” page to see how many he has available. Currently he has 3 black adapters and 3 faux ivory. My revolvers with BK adapters installed. I like them with the Service Grips so much that these aren’t “posed” photos where the photo was taken and then the grips were changed. The BK’s stay on these two revolvers. Forty Rod SASS 3935
This guy doesn't seem to have very much of anything for any kind of Colt, PA. Thanks anyway.
Utah Bob #35998
In my opinion, they were a cheap stopgap before decent oversized grips became available. I had one on a model 36. Didn’t like it.
PAdogman
Sorry, Forty Rod. I didn't look through his inventory. And I was thinking after I posted it, I should look to make sure.
Capt. James H. Callahan
I have one on a Smith 18 I got circa 1978. Always loved it. They were cheap and easy back then. Hope you can find one. JHC
DeaconKC
I've used Tyler's and BK's in the past, both are good products and do work. Especially nice for when you are trying to keep a vintage feel to older guns. Tyler's is a royal pain to deal with, but still keep turning out product, although slow doesn't begin to cover it. But, they do work.
G W Wade
Have a few left over from the old days.Picked up an old (1955) S&W Chief Special 3 in HB. Found a new chrome Tyler T'Grip in the box Looks and works great GW
Utah Bob #35998
Maybe they work depending on your hand size.
J-BAR #18287
I see them occasionally at gunshows, FWIW. I have one on my S&W 15. It works, but other less frustrating to find grips will protect your middle finger from the trigger guard.
