Dirty fired .38 cases

They have pretty much covered it. The light loads that we use in this game is the primary cause of the dirty cases both inside and out. Shooting a straight walled case cartridge with light loads doesn't build enough pressure to get a good seal, so we often get soot on the outside of the case too.

YES , as stated above , the cleaning is just part of the process and really not that difficult - there is extensive information on process and procedures as well as products to use within the archives

I could be wrong, but I believe you just posted a picture showing your crimp, and if I remember correctly, your crimp was fine. So remind us again what powder and what load you are using.
