Every clan has a "pibroch," which loosely translates to "gathering tune." If the clan chief determined they were going to war, or needed to gather the clan for another reason, he would tell a piper to play the pibroch. Bagpipes are LOUD, and the sound carries for miles in the highlands. If you heard your clan pibroch, you grabbed your sword and made for the chief's house. "Thogail nam bo" is the title of my clan pibroch. Here is a guy playing it on electric pipes. Remember, electric pipes are a LOT quieter than real bagpipes. You can hardly play real pipes indoors. The electric ones also allowed him to sing the words that accompany it. It loosely translates to, "A lifting cattle we'll go." My clan was known to be quite adept at bovine relocation
Wallaby Jack, SASS #44062 Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 ................ 'round here they might have been known as "cattle duffers" ..... ................................................ the constabulary might know them as "persons of interest" .....
