Favorite Knife

I have a new “favorite” knife.

My son-in-law went to Germany for his work for a month. He asked if there was anything I would like. I told him I would like a German made single bladed “gentleman’s” pocketknife. I wanted an attractive knife to keep on the end table next to my favorite chair.

This is what he brought me. It’s a beautiful little knife with a 2 3/4” thin blade. Made in Solingen. It’s a stainless knife but the brand eludes me in Internet searches. That really doesn’t matter. It’s a great little knife and I am very happy he bought it for me.

I only have about 300 knives.

Not too long ago, I was looking at the knife display in a LGS when my wife said, "Come on, Let's go."

The guy behind the counter told her, "You can never have too many knives."

She pointed a finger at me and replied, "He does!"

Between my Cases, Bucks, & Kershaws my fave is still probably my Cold Steel Master Hunter.

Use to have a Gerber BMF but gave it to a bud going to South America.

Wish Gerber still made them.

I had to revive this topic cause I finally got ambitious enough to post my 2 favorite knives. The folding blade is every day carry and the fixed blade is a Damascus blade knife that I carry when we pack in the mountains.

Today my favorite knife is my Swiss Army Tinker. I lost it for two months. I found it yesterday . The universe is back in balance. :D

My current carry knife is a Kershaw 6055 Emerson.  Great knife, for me anyway.

Isn't it great when you find a knife that's been missing? Or anything that you like, for that matter.

Picked one of these up a few years ago; $65.  SS.  I don't like the plastic sheath.  Need a horizontal belt sheath in leather, that will work behind my back.

My favorite knife is my Randall Model 14. A local gun shop had a selection of Randalls that never seemed to move. Very few people (at least when I was visiting) were looking at them. I watched this one for a few years before I finally just bought it. I had known about the Model 14 since the early '80's and first saw it in some of the knife magazines then.

About 10 years ago I took my wife to the INS office on some official matter, and when we went through the metal detectors I set it off. I looked all over myself to see what it was, and it turned out I still had my Gerber EZ-Out folder clipped to my front pocket. The security guard told me I could either take it back to my vehicle (a 20-minute walk there and back) or give it up. My wife wasn't too pleased that she had to sit in the lobby and wait for me to come back. <_<
