Black Angus McPherson Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 So, to me, the question becomes: "Why isn't the Tesla valve used?" Also, what is a Reed valve? Angus Not-an-engineer McPherson

Angus Not-an-engineer McPherson The Tesla valve is a bit larger due to the design so it depends on exactly what you want to use it in. Also imagine trying to clear a clog out of one.
Wallaby Jack, SASS #44062 Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 …… so, Mister Tesla wasn't just an Electrical Genius ………

OLG Kind of hard when you have Edison and big money yanking the rug out from under you at every turn. He was a brilliant man.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Now if Edison had chosen a less photogenic elephant than Topsy to execute...
Wallaby Jack, SASS #44062 Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 It would almost appear that one of Mr. Teslas' better moves was to leave Edison and go work for Mr. Westinghouse
Pat Riot Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Edison was a brilliant man also but he was also a sonofab****! Any man that would sanction the killing of animals to sell his ideas in electrical power should have been hooked up to some cabling himself. He was also a very astute and often unscrupulous businessman. The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Just look at who Edison's money man was, will tell you much about Edison. OLG

J.D. Daily Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 The problems with Tesla's one way valve are: While it's Cv factor in reverse direction is 200 times the forward Cv factor it is less than infinite. I.E. it will leak in reverse direction. It requires a lot of length compared to swing poppet & spring poppet check valves.
