Spoke with him last week.  Was going to send her out last Friday but am waiting on her little sister to arrive.  This will be my first set of BP guns I've had any work done to.  Am very excited to be able to shoot them in a match this year.

Sorry Jabez Old Boy.  Those barrels are almost and just at four inches TOO LONG.  4 inches of wasted steel.  The Steel conservationists will be all over ya for those.  Snubbies ROCK!!

Some of us have longer barrels than others!  Please don't let this intimidate you.  :D

How well do those grips fit? I've been looking for some imitation ivories for my Uberti 1851 as well.

They fit good .

I had to do very minimum fitting .

Very happy with them .

Fellows that can't handle real ;) guns with barrels over 4 1/8 inches can't come and Play in Canada...............

So they are missing out on Barrels of Fun ....

Just found out capping the Cones on a 51is a lot tougher then the 60.

I had to modify my snail Capper and my straight line Capper to get them both to work.

Has  anyone tried the new polish Capper for the Colts on the Pietta 51s yet to see if they fit ?

I have the exact opposite problem. I can cap my Uberti 1851 easily, but I can't cap my Centaure 1860 through the side as the frame is still in the way and would have to take a grinder to it. So instead I have to cap it through the hammer cutout.

What are you capping with ?

I have never heard of a capping issue with a 1860 ?

What is Centaure 1860 ?

The Centaure was a Belgian-made 1860 replica made during the 1960s-70s. The issue I'm having is that the divot in the frame isn't deep enough and prevents sliding a cap onto the nipple. I would have to take a Dremel or some files to the frame to allow the caps to go on, which would look like hell afterwards. I've tried using a straight line capper, cash capper and of course my fingers. Since I learned I can cap it just fine by going down through the top I'm not as worried about it as I used to be.
