Howdy,

I just heard that the proper serving temp of coffee is 177F.

So the next pot I made I stuck in a temp and guess what---178F.

My maker went 175 to 180F the next few pots.

This is not the brewing temp and I don't suggest anyone gulp this down but sip.

I find the coffee at or about this temp is real good especially in January.

Check for yourself and be careful.

Best

CR

There was a thinkg on the Internet the other day about 10 things not to do with your food. One was "Do not put alcohol in your coffee. It interferes with the fresh brewed taste and who wants to have the taste of Scotch in their coffe?"

SCOTCH?? What an idiot.

Yeah....tell us another! :D

For brewing "experts" seem to agree that around 205 is the best bet.

Yes. That's what I've always read. And at this altitude water boils at exactly 205°. Makes it pretty simple for me. :D

I heat water on my stove top in a small pan and use a electronic temp gun to check it. When its about 165-180 I take it off and brew my coffee with it in a french press. No electricity, easy to clean, fast great tasting coffee within minutes of wanting it....Trash your coffee pots and get a french press, there cheaper than a electric coffee pot thats gonna just burn out anyway and take up less shelf space!
