Deuce Stevens SASS#55996 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Trying to figure out what the below attachment is for. It's a quick connect of some kind and is located directly below the city and fill spouts for the water and it taps in to the water system. Don't have a manual nor have i been able to find one online and tried a rv forum they don't seem very willing to help. Any body have a idea?
Matthew Duncan Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Older RV and the water holding tank is steel? If yes then the connection is for pressurizing the water tank.
Rolling Stone Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Don't some RV's have a connection for city water? I seem to remember my son having one that had a holding tank and pump for off grid use and another hookup that by passed this and used water pressure off the hose instead. YMMV
G W Wade Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Mine has 1 to fill tanks and a connection to hookup to city water supply. picture looks like a quick connection which should screw off leaving regular hose connection. some also use a pressure regulator to prevent excessive city water pressure from damaging rv system. Good luck GW
Yul Lose Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 This may be a connection that has a built in pressure regulator for connection to a pressurized water system. The one on mine regulates the water pressure so that the plastic piping in the RV doesn't blow out when connected to city water. It's very important to have in line if that's what it is because it's very expensive to repair broken water lines and subsequent damage in an RV, don't ask me how I know.
Medicine Creek Johnny Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Mine uses that type coupler for a spray hose connection . Is there water there when your pump is on?
Rancho Roy Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Go here for the answer. They will know http://www.rv.net/forum/
Michigan Slim Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Mine uses that type coupler for a spray hose connection . Is there water there when your pump is on? My thought as well.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Water line connection for camp ground use. OLG
Deuce Stevens SASS#55996 Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Well thanks for the suggestions guys. As I said it is below the tank fill and city water spout so it does not perform either one of those functions.
Grizzly Dave Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Could be for hooking up water for a black tank flush, though those seem to be a fairly recent addition to some newer RVs. What is the make, model and year of the RV? Maybe I can find something online for ya, I may be kinda slow on the range, but I have mad google skills
Yul Lose Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Howdy Deuce, if you post the make and year of the RV I have a friend that's worked on RV'S for 40 some years and I'm sure he can tell you what it is. I'll see him in the morning if you'll get me the info.
