Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Way at the top - Justified When you have a distant Looney relative who was kilt by the Cherokees while buffalo hunting in Harlan County, KY, (1783) well, there is no other choice! And, relatives in the Crowder family. And just to put the icing on the cake, another relative who was a deputy US Marshal in the Indian Territories. Yeah, guess it's in my blood. Black List Longmire Blue Bloods An oldie collection that is most excellent: Jesse Stone collection - 8 TV movies from when Tom Selleck was doing that style of "series". Good luck, GJ
Billy Bristol Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 right now Justified Blue Bloods Game of thrones Past Longmire Hell on Wheels
Dirty Dan Dawkins Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I do not have tv now as in local or cable. Only Netflix. My favs are Andy Griffith Have Gun Will Travel Walking Dead In that order.
Dirty Dan Dawkins Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I don't really do that. The closest I have come is watching The Twilight Zone marathons when they show them on holidays. They have all of them on Netflix.....
Guest Henry Horns SASS #19579L Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Miss Hazel & I also tend to like: Last of the Summer Wine (Britcom) Miss Fisher Mysteries (Aussie) George Gently
Aunt Jen Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I am so behind the Netflix times. I'm a TV dinosaur who watches CBS and documentaries.
Cpt Dan Blodgett, SASS #75655 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 miss fisher's murder mysteries is pretty good
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I love the Untouchables - especially the hard-edged narrator and the shootouts between the feds and the Chicago gangsters with Tommy guns.
Noz Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Big Bang Theory Scorpion Vikings (Lagertha is Fine) Swamp People I bow my head in shame but I am hooked by "What Not to Wear". I am fascinated by the way women see themselves. There used to be another show I think it was "Love Yourself Naked" Same thing. If you ask a woman to describe herself you would never recognize her. She's always fatter shorter, dumpier, bad skin, and terrible hair.
ShadowCatcher Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Having been overseas and now back stateside, there are several series that I used to watch regularly that I am now binging on, and others that I meter out a little at a time. Catching up included Longmire, NCIS & Vikings. Watched front to back (for the first time) Andromeda (all 106 shows), and am now watching Carnivale - which I declare to be the weirdest thing I've ever sat through, or at least darn close to it. Recently bought DVD boxed sets for binging: Have Gun, Will Travel, Secret Agent Man & Rumpole of the Baily. Am planning to buy The Man From UNCLE shortly, in anticipation of the movie that is coming out this summer. One good thing about living in the UK - it got me off commercial TV altogether - If I can't watch it commercial free - then I won't watch it. I can wait for it to come around on Amazon Prime or Netflix or Hulu. I've also gotten into the habit of turning off the electronic toys, and going back to dead tree reading for the last hour before bed time. I sleep better as a result. YMMV, Shadow Catcher
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 miss fisher's murder mysteries is pretty good About third on my list behind Foyle's War and A Touch Of Frost and ahead of David Suchet's Poirot, Sanctuary, any James Bond starring Sean Connery, and Agatha Christie's Marple with Geraldine McEwan. So, I'm a mystery junkie, and the Brits do mysteries almost as good as they do gardens. Not a lot of flashy SFX, not a lot of violence, not a lot of profanity, (except for Bond, of course), but fine stories I could add a bunch to the list, but those are my favorites.
Nasty Newt # 7365 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Forty, Foyle's War was one of my favorites. Intelligent adult drama. Thanks for the reminder. I may now have to binge it.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Forty, Foyle's War was one of my favorites. Intelligent adult drama. Thanks for the reminder. I may now have to binge it. Don't forget the post-war episodes... season 7 or maybe 8. Not as good, but still above average.
