  1. Not exactly the Thrilla in Manila.
  2. My dad’s favorite airplane. The reason he joined the AAF. Never got to fly one though. He thought it was the most hot rod looikng plane they had. ( of course that was before the P51 took to the air) My mom thought the P38 was the coolest.
  3. He shot a Texas Cowboy. Never a good idea. Stealing a horse compounded it. Rosa the saloon girl comes in a distant third in priority.
  4. Because of that cool show, I bought a P38 when I was in Germany in 68. But I was never as cool as Solo. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057765/trivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv
  5. Haven’t decided yet. Ate the ears of a chocolate bunny after lunch.
  6. There is a lot to be said for the old west practice of a rifle and pistol of the same caliber in a shtf scenario. The shtf frequently in the old west .
  7. Looks like my 4th grade teacher.
  8. I have a lot of whiskey. When that runs out I’ll only need one bullet. Caliber not important.
  9. Head for the mountains. You’re in California. That’s where the Chinese invading force will land!
  10. How did he know how much he would need? Magic 8 ball?
  11. I’d lose the Krag and M1 and replace them with an AR and a long range bolt gun like an ‘03 or a Mauser.
  12. Fast moving and military lawyers seem to be mutually exclusive terms.
  13. Inside the park homer for Raimel Tapia of the Rockies. Haven’t seen one of those in quite a while. This calls for a drink.
  14. Well deserved but.....It would make the recipient extremely uncomfortable. I have known a few. They were humble humble, unassuming men who accepted the award on behalf of their fallen brothers.
  15. There is no requirement to salute the MOH. It is a courtesy and sign of respect. Rank still prevails. The private would salute a commissioned officer but the officer might salute first if he knew of the award. These days with combat uniforms rather than dress uniforms being the common duty wear you wouldn’t know if the soldier was a MOH recipient or not unless you knew him personally. This should help. https://www.stripes.com/blogs-archive/the-rumor-doctor/the-rumor-doctor-1.104348/must-all-troops-salute-medal-of-honor-recipients-1.125849#.XLuasIpMGhA
  16. Gene Moe. A modern Hugh Glass. I first heard about him from a relative of his. I didn't believe it till he brought me news clippings. http://badassoftheweek.com/genemoe.html
  17. I just want an F-86. Doesn’t even need to run.
  18. You're good here. Probably get an nice hero award from the sheriff.
