Will heat loosen epoxy?

I have a spatula. But it is all metal. As I cook it heats up and transfers the heat to my hand. Owie.

So I was thinking about putting a couple of scales on it, like a knife. But not having any brass rivets, I thought about epoxy. Glue the suckers on.

But not having all that much experience with epoxy, I don't know if it would stand up to heat. It would suck to be lifting something out of the pan and the spatula start rotating because the epoxy loosened and the wood was no longer holding on to the handle.

I use dutch ovens for Scouts and competition.

JB Weld is my first choice.

I do not have a second choice.

:-)

I have several all metal spatulas. They are not a problem. Are you leaving ii in the pan or something??
