Some of my friends played on those cuts and the Fire on the Mountain album was actually recorded at a friend of mine’s studio here in Nashville before they put down the album tracks that appear on the disc so that they had everything EXACTLY like Charlie and the guys wanted it upon release.

I've seen Charlie and many of the incarnations of CDB many times over the years. He always seemed to come to Florida and events around Florida for many, many years. I always liked the ones he did in Brooksville...there was never a bad concert or off night that I ever saw. Always a fun musician, entertainer and his songs meant something to me then and still do today. Said it the way he saw it, the way it really is and from the heart.

One of these days, I'll get up your way...I'd relish talking with you about the people, music and memories that make up your vast career and hobbies if you'd allow.B)

Here’s another one that one of my friends played bass on.  Nick Rather played bass behind JJ for many years, right up until his passing.

A lot of people covered JJ’s music!

Another high school buddy that played bass in two great Blues Rock bands.  And gone way too soon!!

Allan Woody played for the Mule and The Brothers…

This song is among my all time favorites!!

Linn’s post of the Hall of the Mountain King above sparked a memory for me!  This is a long recording, well worth a listen and reveals some amazing talent!

I suggest you come back and give it a listen when you have some time to relax and enjoy!

All of Ritchie Valens' songs were performed by Los Lobos, whom the Valenzuela family personally requested be involved in the film.  And Los Lobos looks so young in this video
