Buckshot Bob Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 This is just NFA stuff, so just imagine the numbers of everything else out there
J-BAR #18287 Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Those are impressive numbers and I think that was his point. His list is close to population by state, with NewYork, Illinois, and Michigan left out, which just tells us that no matter where Americans live, they are going to own guns. state rank by population (2019 numbers): 1-California 2-Texas 3-New York 4-Florida 5-Illinois 6-Pennsylvania 7-Ohio 8-Michigan 9-Georgia 10-North Carolina The surprises in the gun list (Alabama, Arizona, Virginia) really aren’t surprises if you have ever shot with cowboys from those states!
Pat Riot Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 10. Alabama 9. Ohio 8. North Carolina 7. Arizona 6. Georgia 5. Pennsylvania 4. California 3. Virginia 2. Florida 1. Texas
Alpo Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Thank you Pat. His voice is annoying - almost as annoying as his speech pattern. And he was taking forever to tell me what I wanted to know.

Once he started blathering about gold and the coming doomsday I started skipping through and getting the info that a simple spreadsheet would have had at a glance.
Kid Sopris, SASS Regulator Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 And Idaho is not on the list. I’m offended…or worried that all those retired LEOs that moved here, left their guns back where they came from.

I’m not sure if you can own class 3 stuff in Ill or NY . I know here in Mi you can. I know allot of people with suppressors , just a couple with machine guns. Here you used to have to get the approval of your sheriff but they did away with that about 15 or 20 years ago.
Alpo Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 I'm guessing all those registered machine guns in California are owned by the movie companies. Because it's almost impossible for John Q Public to own a machine gun in California. I read years ago that it was possible if the gun was C&R. So while Hardpan, for example, could not own my Thompson, since it's a West Hurley that was made in 1986, but he could own a Colt-made 1921. Unless that I read was incorrect.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 I'd like to see the most per capita. Let's get some population figures in here.

It may be from people who were grandfathered in, When I moved to CA in the 80’s the gun laws actually weren’t that bad . I actually had a CPL there when most states wouldn’t even issue one. When you look at the CA numbers I think you also have to consider Los Angeles county has more people than many states.

That is most likely Wyoming. Plenty of NFA stuff here and a very low population...and I know it had the highest per capita a decade ago.
Mud Marine,SASS#54686 Life Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Per capita is the only useful statistic. My Idaho plus Wyoming and Montana are my votes. The only neighbours that don't have guns are Californian transplants. I have no long term concerns about them because we are in grizzly country and they like to take walks! ;-)
Mud Marine,SASS#54686 Life Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 There was a lawyer from California that sued to close our state long distance range South of Coeur d' Alene a few years ago. He left - he could not get a plumber, heating/AC repairman, get a grocery cashier to serve him, get served in a restaurant or anything else. Plus, our legislature passed eleven range protection laws that closed any conceivable loophole

NOT ALL CALIFORNIANS ARE LIBERAL GUN HATERS. I am moving to Idaho to enjoy some freedom

watab kid Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 a free society also can band together to tar a feather those that threaten the peaceful harmony we enjoy , not to incite unrest , im strictly thinking peaceful protest here , kinda like those damn windmills off the beaches in ritzy neighborhoods of summer homes for the elite on the east coast - not in my backyard , or the front yard either , ya mucked up your yard , clean it up or live with it , dont bring it here , no need for a lynch party yet but if i recall correctly italy hung both mussini and his concubine from lamp poles , seems some of that happened in france after the germans pulled out , we dont need national socialists or anti-national socialists , but then i was just speculating here on history repeating itself like it tends to do ,
