Stand in the door! :FlagAm:
A shout out to all airborne buddies of my misspent youth. And a tribute to those who paved the way. AATW!

There is no such thing as a perfectly good airplane! The one time I did not jump was because my chute accidentally opened in the aircraft before the doors were opened. I was moved to the front and strapped into a seat with chute in deployment bag in my lap. We made the jump pass and everyone else got out fine. Closed the doors and started smelling smoke, something was on fire and we made an "emergency" landing. Never want to do that again. I'd rather jump!

Had a Mae West on my very first jump in jump school.

the one thing I learned is the reserve is attached in front and lower than the main chute--you come down at an angle rather than vertical

did a 3-point PLC (parachute landing CRASH):  heels, ass and back on the head/helmet . . . and I didn't feel a thing cause I was so happy to be alive

♫ He hit the ground, the sound was “SPLAT”, his blood went spurting high;
His comrades, they were heard to say “a hell of a way to die!”
He lay there, rolling ’round in the welter of his gore,
And he ain’t gonna jump no more ♪
