18 cents overnight?

Regular unleaded went up 18 cents overnight? What the hell? Been using the neighborhood 7-11 for fuel since they dumped the citgo brand and watching the prices bounce around all over the place with the unrest in Egypt. Big bounce on Wednesday then down 4 cents the day after and then up 18 cents from yesterday to today.

If I get a new job where I have to do any commuting the thought of owning prius, gag, or maybe a little 30MPG plus Mistubishi or Ford is going to be on the short list of things to do.

Wonder where we will be for the shooting season, high time to put a gun rack on the bike, load up the saddle bags and cinch down the stampede string on the skimmer.

Iron Pony, I bought a used Civic a number of years ago to commute in, even bone dry it's done filling before I can wash the windshield. Even paying upkeep, tags, and insurance on an additional vehicle I've saved a bunch of money and saved wear and tear on my truck.

Yup, things are REALLY looking up!!

At least, that's what the gang in D.C. keep sayin'..

Any, ANY excuse at all is a good reason for the speculators to raise prices..

And now they have a REALLY GOOD ONE!

At one time, being a speculator was a gamble, just part of the game..But somewhere along the line, they started dictating price.

And of course the stockholders are jumpin' for joy as well..They can't seem to see what it's doing to Joe average (And the country) in the meantime. <_<

Then again, I reckon they don't give a da**.. :(

Yep, we are sitting at $3.89 for regular today but I expect it will jump again since this morning's paper showed a San Francisco station with $4.19 regular. The stations here (Eureka, CA) have been the highest in the nation for years and they can't stand to be bested by anyone anywhere! Must be a matter of pride?

3.7854 liters = 1 gallon

So $1.41 x 3.7854 = $5.3375 per gallon.

thank god i get good mileage out of the old girl

about 600k/50l tank ( 372 mile to 13 gallon )

Last prices I saw here were on Sat. when I was out doing an errand, $3.39. $.18 would make it $3.57, I'll check with the wife when she gets back in this morning to see what she saw whilst out on the bus..........Buck :blush:

My hope is this isnt like primers, ie prices went way up, have come down very slowly if at all and have never gone back to previous prices. Yeah I know gas inst a luxury like primers are. I wonder where we are going to be this summer when folks start traveling distances to state or regional matches and of course theres always the price hike for the seasonal changeover to different formulations.

Grizzly if I could swing it now another PT Cruiser would fit right in. It carried two people, all their guns, gear and gun cart inside the back while still turning in about 30MPG on the road. Hell IIRC I didnt even need to take the rear seats out, just folded them up and stuffed everything in.

I don't care what gas costs. I ain't driving no PT Cruiser. My pride just won't allow it.
