Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
Thanks loads Adobe and especially those Websites using the Flash Player. Well, here's the deal. I got a new Windows 7, Intel 7, 64 bit PC. Super duper fast. Then Adobe goes and releases a FP upgrade and a gazillion sights require the upgrade to work. The hitch is that it only works on 32 bit PCs. So, I have three choices.Wait for the 64 bid version of Adobe Flash. Download a Beta version of the 64 bit program. Downgrade to a 32 bit browser. Well, I'm not that patient and miss my Soduku and Crosswords; not to mention UTube. I was a software tester and am sick to death of Beta crap. Don't really want to downgrade. Guess that's a conundrum. Have any of you done No. 2 or 3? If so how is that working for you. Thanks for any help! Allie
Grizzly Dave
Don't ask me, I'm still on Windows 3.1. OK, not really, I am still on Win 2k though, it works so why fix it. Not looking forward to upgrading machines neither, lots of legacy software to replace.

Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
Very familiar with your disgust. I use Flash buttons on the Mima Marauders web site. I also have Windows 7 64-bit. I keep two IE quick launch buttons, one for 64-bit, and the other for 32-bit. I use the 32-bit when messing with the web site. Eventually Adobe will come out with their upgrade -- they are catching a lot of heat right now. I avoid Beta programs like the plague (or Flint). Download Foxfire 32 bit and use it until adobe comes out with a 64 bit upgrade. You don't have to do anything with your 64 bit browser, just don't use it until you get the upgrade. You might try Adobe's Website for more info. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/000/6b3af6c9.html

Might solve the Flash Player part, since it uses Quick Time instead. -Chris

Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
Hi Folks, I appreciate the posts, funny and serious. First, I've had a Mac and loved it. I just didn't want to spend that much and now I have a new laptop. Yeah Doug, I saw instructions on Adobe's site, that is how I figured out my options. Chris, I downloaded Quick Time to watch a CD Tex made of the Pan Pacific games. It took over and insisted on being the player for all .jpegs. I didn't like the result. So, I'm not going to put any Mac programs on my PC. Here's what I'm betting will happen. I will lose patience and download a 32 bit browser. (Yes Okie, Beta is the plague to me too.) The next day, Adobe will release the 64 bit version. So, I'm going to wait for now. If I'd heard that someone downloaded the Beta on exactly the same equipment I have and it worked great, I might have considered that. Just a thought. I could be wrong. But I don't think so. EC
