That’s exciting!! FL State and SC State on back to back weekends! Shootin Sharyn, Kid Flash and I will be there. If Iron Cowboy is on Spring Break he will too. I’ve already reserved our AirBnB.

Probably your suggestion about double action revolvers which aren’t allowed in SASS (Single Action Shooting Society)

I'm sure he would beat me pretty easily if he would learn how to properly hold a revolver.

That's because I'm so much better looking.

It is a highly competitive match for sure, but well worth the trip if you have the testicular fortitude.

This is pretty much what I've been doing for several years now with no problems. The only difference is that I sun dry them even in winter. There's probably a geographic element to that. The Georgia sun seems to be able to take care of drying them even during the winter.

Those are nice guns. I just purchased a set of Single Sixes and had them done by Jimmy Spurs so I can say from experience that's a very good price.

We'll probably be adding Kid Flash as well. He's in the doghouse right now with his grades, so we'll see.

You had the option of doing a regressive and then a progressive if you liked that better.

I like options. Gives me a chance to burn up some brain cells. Some folks don't. At the South Carolina State match the stage I wrote gave folks the option of sweeping right to left rifles then pistols on eight targets with a four target regressive rifle sweep 4,4,4,4,3,3,3,2,2,1 followed by a four target right to left progressive pistol sweep 1,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,4 (8 total targets slanted away from the shooter left to right with targets 4 and 8 smaller than the others). OR you could shoot left to right with progressive pistol sweep followed by a regressive rifle sweep. Basically the shooter had to choose between dumping four pistol rounds on a close pistol target or dumping four rifle rounds on a close rifle target. I thought of it as 'pick your poison.' Most chose right to left (I did and ran it in 18 seconds and some change) and dumped four rounds on the close pistol target, BUT I did hear there was quite a bit of grumbling. Live and learn I guess. I expect that stage won't be seen again at SC.

I think I've already shot all the misses out of my new pistols. We'll see.

I'm not a fan of short stroked Rugers, but then I'm not a duelist either. Lowered hammers would probably help, or short stroking, or both. I know several duelists who went with Single Sixes. The smaller frame gets your thumb closer to the hammer even with stock hammers and no short stroke.
