  1. You may want to look at the duel fuel models. If you run strictly on propane you won't be messing up the carburetor. BS
  2. I have a pair of OM Vaqueros in 44 magnum that I shoot regularly. However, I load them with 44 Russian rounds. Plenty of smoke and manageable recoil. BS
  3. Add to that a free-standing, wood burning stove. It might be localized heat, but something is better than nothing. BS
  4. I'll bite. What does "Texas Tornado Style" mean? Thanks, BS
  5. I think that if I lived back in that area I would invest in a generator. Probably wouldn't get used much, but when needed would be priceless. BS
  6. Payload/Cargo Carrying Capacity is a big item on trailers. Remember that water weighs 8.34 pounds per gallon. Two main reasons we ended up going with an Arctic Fox: - on board generator. As far as I know, Northwood Mfg is the only mfg to put generators on travel trailers. - from the factory (with the generator included) my trailer has a cargo capacity of 3600 pounds. With regard to tires; look very close at their rated load. I'd love to put truck tires on the trailer, but none will match up with the GVWR. I may upgrade to 16" wheels sometime in the future (15" currently). Good luck with your search, BS Note: Northwood Mfg makes both the Arctic Fox and the Nash.
  7. I don't have any experience with Eagle grips so I am unable to give any comparison. I think the only time I've ever had an issue with grip/hold is when I was truly hot and very sweaty. Otherwise, no problem. BS
  8. Joe Perkins of Classic Single Action does amazing work. Top to bottom: spalted maple, burl walnut, burl maple. He has many woods to choose from. We've been very happy with his work. BS
  9. Contact Johnny Meadows. He works on them and sells them. Sending his contact info by PM. BS
  10. Are you guys staying at the 4Seasons RV Park? We've got our apps in and reservations at 4Seasons. Looking forward to the match. BS
  11. I believe you are correct. I was on the DD-965 and DD-992, each was about 2 hrs old when I went aboard. The 965 was much faster due to radar absorbing materials placed on the superstructure of the 992. But, I'll take either of them compared to the ride of a FFG. I made it 18 years before I got sea sick. I'll leave it there. BS
  12. The ship appears to be a Spruance class destroyer. These ships had sea water compensated fuel storage tanks. Basically, as you used fuel from the storage tank, that fuel was replaced with sea water. Sea water is heavier than fuel so the ship sat LOWER in the water as you used up fuel. And they were very smooth. 20 foot seas were nothing. Fond memories. BS
  13. I completely missed that. My time was on DDs and a FFG. We hunted the "silent" targets. Take care, BS
  14. My only thought was, Retired or Retard?? BS
  15. Back in the old days, a bunch of us left the ship to get our annual hearing test. 'Course since it was held in the building next to the enlisted club we just stopped in to have a liquid lunch. Failed the hearing test, had to go back for another try. The good old days! BS
  16. Rafe,

We could meet up at Thunderstick to make the exchange or whatever else works.  Trizzlee and I are going to shoot with the Dusty Bunch this weekend.

    Give me a call.  (c) 971-5205

  17. I think the OP was asking how many active members there are total. Apparently there used to be 18,500. What's the number today, higher or lower. BS
  18. Did you call base security for their current policy? The AF base I frequent currently requires firearm unloaded with ammo in one area and handgun in another. It might be worth a call, BS
  19. As noted by many above, depends on what for. Concealed carry: 45 acp in a single stack semi-auto or .380 single stack semi-auto. CAS: 38-40, 44 Russian, 44 special, & sometimes 45 LC. To make an impression: 44 magnum in 8 3/8" S&W mdl 29 in a Dirty Harry holster. That is of course IF I had any of those firearms. BS
  20. Slick, I'll take 1,000. PM to follow. BS
