  1. Past hour
  2. Now that's a thought. Daddy retired as a Senior Chief.
  3. Galax Virginia. I always figured it was something he picked up in the Navy. I don't recall other people from that area referring to food or "something to eat" as groceries.
  4. Probably did not sell because cola is supposed to be brown. I remember reading some science fiction story one time where milk with blue. I don't think I'd be happy with a glass of blue milk. Or green eggs. Or purple bread. People are weird. Some things are supposed to be a specific color. And if they ain't that color, people don't trust it.
  5. For those who have not restocked their primer stash, this is a good time to do so. Who knows when warfare in the world will make primers scarce and pricey again. The White House has proposed a 30% tariff on imports from the EU. This would necessarily increase the price of French-made Cheddite primers and some of the powders imported from the EU.
  6. Powder Valley has free Hazmat shipping today. Good availably on powder and primers too.
  7. Where your daddy from?
  8. Likewise. "I'll be there directly. After I get some groceries down my neck." On the road... "It's about time to find a place to get some groceries."
  9. Yes, I am aware that they are calling grocer because they buy stuff by the gross. Or possibly the dozen dozen is called a gross because that's the amount that grocers buy. Regardless, I think it is probably a regional term. My in-laws would red off the table. Both of them would say that, so my wife said that, so my daughter says that. I know what it means, but they were the only ones I'd ever heard used the term. I bet Pat Riot knows what it means. Then one day I'm watching a Quantum Leap episode. The man who Sam had left into had a Pennsylvania Dutch housekeeper. And a couple times in that show she said something about "red off the table". My in-laws came from Indiana, Pennsylvania. So I have decided that that is a regional Pennsylvania term. (I just looked it up.https://grammarphobia.com/blog/2007/12/reddy-or-not.html Apparently it should be spelled with 2 Ds.) Like some state in the upper Midwest does not have water fountains or drinking fountains. They have bubblers. Nobody else has bubblers - just the people that live in this state. Regional term. (I just looked that up too. Wisconsin https://www.jsonline.com/story/life/green-sheet/2020/02/25/why-bubbler-what-water-drinking-fountain-called-wisconsin-milwaukee/4793730002/ ) Daddy grew up in Macon, so I'm thinking it's a South Georgia term.
  10. I make a large Boule in the Dutch oven. If I plan to use it up first day, I'll sprinkle coarse sea salt on the loaf before baking. Tastes great, but draws moisture so you need to use it up.
  11. I’ve heard that too, also I heard there’s different plans so not everything is covered depending on the plan you have.
  12. I can’t post who has what at what price or my post gets deleted (which I think is STUPID!), but I’m sure glad to see prices coming down.
  13. I don't trust them. I've heard that they do things like warranty your engine and transmission, but not the clutch.
  14. OK.. complete tear down and deep cleaning last night.. finished up just now.. Upon tear down.. I was taking the bolt extension and bolt out.. normal.. Tipped the bolt up to remove firing pin.. it didn’t come out.. Tried it a few times to no avail.. finally straightened out a paper clip and poked it out.. an extra piece came out with it.. Where the heck did this come from?? I’ve never seen it before.. that was probably effecting the firing pin travel.. duh upon inspecting the bolt and bolt extension I noticed a piece was missing on the tip of the keeper end of the bolt extension.. (Yep.. Garrison Joe called it) Now I thought that extension was made out of a solid piece of steel.. It’s not..it’s two pieces… one piece of steel tube pressed over another piece of steel Rod.. and then I guess milled to their specs.. (don’t pretend to know how they make them) but that broken off piece.. I think.. was causing the problem.. I had a new spare ‘73 bolt assembly and installed it after finishing all the other deep cleaning.. I also backed the hammer spring straining screw off that 3/4 turn.. back to original.. can always turn it back.. The hammer spring is leaf type and doesn’t looked like it’s been hour glassed to lighten it.. Gotta go shoot it now.. Thanks for your patience and time..👍🏻 Rance

  19. One of the great voices of our time.
  20. I like a little butter or oil in mine. I think it gives a nicer crumb. But when I make it for church (either small loaves for a Lity, or to use for the zapivka) I leave it out.
  21. I've never heard it used like that before. "Groceries" comes from "grocer" which comes from "groser," one who deals in bulk foodstuffs.
  22. Today
  23. Mine shoots great! Using it for deer this season.
