  1. If you can find Alliant Promo powder it is very similar to red dot (they tell you to use red dot data) Winchester AA hull 12-13gr of Promo Claybuster CB0178-12 grey wad 7/8oz shot primer of choice My wife has been shooting these with no issues. Seem to be lighter recoil than factory LNLR rounds. Knockdowns are no problem.
  2. I have 2 pairs of Ruger old model vaqueros. One pair of 4-5/8” barrels. One pair of 7-1/2” barrels. Both are blued and chambered in 45 colt. 4-5/8” pair have super Blackhawk hammers, lightened springs, and eagle gunfighter grips. 7-1/2” pair have super Blackhawk hammers, lightened springs, and faux ivory/pearl grips. $1600 per pair plus shipping/insurance (at buyers request). Open to reasonable offers as well! I will be at the southwest regionals in Arkansas and the Classic Cowboy showdown in Kansas in the next few weeks.
  3. I did find loads that worked and got everything loaded up. Had to get the wife’s approval since she’s the one shooting them.
  4. Is there any difference in the quality of the final product produced? I have some RCBS dies but am unfamiliar with the other brand.
  5. No I don’t. I have read a little bit about APP and saw the load data in a google search.
  6. I did happen to come across a post from Oct 2021 with a comment from a fellow that had 35grains by weight with the same components I’m already using. It loads and crimps nicely. Fires and makes smoke.
  7. Just got my first case of APP FFFg powder today. Not familiar with loading black powder. Looking for some help with load data. I’m using 45 colts in my rifle and 45 cowboy specials in my pistols. Using 180gr cast boolits. The easy thing to do is fill the case with powder. But I think it’s going to cause unnecessary recoil/smoke/noise. My typical 12ga loads are 12-12.5grs Promo, CB0178-12 grey clay buster wad, and 7/8oz shot in a AA hull. I’ve been told that black powder shot shells are usually loaded “square”. Something about the powder and shot charges being identical by volume. I’m trying to use what I already have on hand for shot shell components and don’t know where to begin. Any advice?
  8. https://www.texas-mac.com/Lengthening_Short_Brass_To_Fit_Your_BPCR_Chamber.html I did find this article with some attached videos. Interesting topic for sure.

I know they are Turkish made. Academy sells them or used to. No experience with them otherwise.
