Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 I can't seem to get their website to work and wonder if they are still in business. If they are I'd like some opinions on their quality of work and ease of ordering. Looking for "one piece" grips for a pair of SAAs and maybe a set of two piece grips for a 1875 Outlaw. If they are not still in business I would appreciate opinions on other suppliers. Thanks for any info I can get.
Lone Spur Jake SASS #7728 Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Their website says their phone is 1-425-397-3595 and they are still listed on Midway's website. They are also called Bar S Grips.
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Take a look at Altamont. They have "bonded ivory" grips that are made from old ivory, ground up and molded into grips. VERY inexpensive. I have a set on my NMV.
Rip Snorter Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Try Boone Trading. I have both Altamont and Boone.
Alpo Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 As to whether they are still in business, I could not tell you. But they made an extremely fine product. To my mind it looks real. I sent them the grip frames, and they fitted them to them. No extra charge. Of course, that's been nigh on 20 years ago.

I love my Altamont grips, got 'em on my 1911, Colt 1903 pocket .32, and Colt Gov't model .380 but they don't offer a one piece grip for my guns.

No grips but there are things. They don't make one piece grips either.

I like the weight and density of them. Boone grips can be one piece, but like every other aftermarket grip you have to glue them together.

Chas B. Wolfson, SASS #11104 Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Might look at River Junction Trade Company. Getting ready to order two pair of bone, one piece for my .44 Open Tops with 51 Navy square back grip frames. https://www.riverjunction.com Chas
Choctaw Jack Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Arizona custom Grips. You have to install the spacer block to make a one piece grip but it's not a problem.
