Those kids didn’t have their mission planned out properly and hit the wrong target. I hated to break their wrists and dislocate each of their knees like I did, but it was necessary in order to immobilize the invasion. I hope they get the money that is owed to them once they get out of jail and decide to live better lives. My main concern is getting my back door fixed. Those boys really did a number on the door jamb,” O’Neill stated.

Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Ok. it did smell like a spoof. In a real life incident the perps would have had different injuries not exclusively broken wrists and dislocated knees. ))))

Utah Bob #35998
For future reference, here's a good rundown on fake news/satire/parody sites. If you see an article from one of them just delete it or read it for fun onnly. I get e-mauils from friends almost daily who have swallowed the craziness hook line and sinker. http://www.relevantmagazine.com/culture/handy-rundown-internets-fake-news-sites

Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
As the years pass, I have learned that some people just don't have an "ear" for satire, while others usually see it right off. I think it's just the usual range of human perceptions. Some folks can read others, from expressions and body language and other subtle clues, and others really can't very well. I've known a couple of folks in my time that were such good "readers" of other people that it was almost uncanny. I'm somewhere in the middle. I almost always spot satire right off, but am only middling+ at reading people.

Charlie Harley, #14153
For me, satire has to be accompanied by a wink or wry body language. In written form, I fall for it every time.

Utah Bob #35998
I didn't see MSNBC or New York Times on that list. There's a difference between satire and pure BS.
