McCandless
No wonder I like "Sherlock" better than "Elementary"... Watching an episode of Elementary, someone is driving along, when another car pulls up next to them and with a gun on full auto, stitches a pattern along the side of the car and blows out the windows... later... A Hollywierd Police Captain says that ballistics shows that the shooter used "A semi-automatic MP-5"... Sherlock is examining the car and deduces that "I can tell by the pattern of the holes that the bullets were fired in 3-round bursts... from a rifled barrel as opposed to a smooth bore... which suggests that the perpetrator of the attack had access to high-level firearm augmentation..." Utah Bob #35998
True, Sherlock is a better crafted and far superior production and more enjoyable for me but..... It doesn't have Lucy Liu.
G #1840
I count myself among the Baker Street Irregulars (Sherlock holmes fans) and I do like Elementary. They seem to have captured Holmes' pedantic and misanthropic manner. They could have made a great connection if Watson had been an Army doctor fresh from Afghanistan, just like the original. Gunner Gatlin, SASS 10274L
It's the liberal left trying to 'educate' the 'dangers' that a semi-auto is as bullet flinging as a full-auto. They live on lies because fact doesn't support their case.... People that support this party should be flogged. GG

In the BBC Sherlock series, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, he is. Just modern day Afghanistan. Marin Freeman (Lester Nygaard from the Fargo TV series) is Watson. It's on Nextflix. Maybe Amazon to. Very good series.

Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770
Sorry fellers, I have to respectfully disagree. In my not so humble opinion, the best Holmes was performed by Jeremy Brett in the PBS series. There were four "seasons", though they weren't shown that way. The episodes were direct screenplays of the original Conan Doyle stories. There was, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1984), The Return of Sherlock Holmes (1986), The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (1991), The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (1994). The series also finally treated Watson as he deserved to be treated; not as a bumbling fool, but as a man of science and learning. It also had the added appeal of being hosted by the ever lovely Diana Rigg. When Jeremy Brett died in 1995, The Biography Channel examined his life as though he was Sherlock, having several of his costars from the show discuss him in a round table type format.
