Now that dog wasn't the brightest bulb, and when he started "around the block", which led to a different street, he could get completely lost. I started looking for him...on a bicycle. I found the pup and picked him up under one arm, got on the bike and started home. There was a puddle on the street. Well, it looked like a shallow puddle. It wasn't! I was only steering with one hand and the front wheel went sideways and down we went! I made sure the dog got on the ground without injury, but I bruised ribs and wrenched my shoulder, and didn't do the bike any good either. Beware those "shallow" puddles!
