Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 http://www.npr.org/2012/12/05/166086756/revisiting-reappraising-ciminos-heavens-gate Has anybody seen this movie, "Heaven's Gate"? It appears that it's out on DVD. On a scale of one to five stars; one star ( * ) being worst, five stars ( ***** )being best...how would you rate this movie?
Boulder Canyon Bob# 32052L Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I'd give it a 2 only because it's sort of a cowboy movie. I've tried to watch it a couple of times and kept thinking it would get better. I was wrong, plus it's really long.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I liked it. I've been a life long fan of KK........ LG
Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 It was once said to be the biggest box-office flop in history, as well as the worst movie ever made, though some later opinion disagrees: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven%27s_Gate_(film) I've never seen it, myself.
Yellowhouse Sam # 25171 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I liked it. ;)/> I've been a life long fan of KK........ LG Lump, ya ever see KK in the movie "The Tracker"? Pretty dang good movie in my book and its got a Sharps rifle in prominence as well.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Lump, ya ever see KK in the movie "The Tracker"? Pretty dang good movie in my book and its got a Sharps rifle in prominence as well. YES, I have and 'agree' 110%. LG
Bad Hand Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I've seen it, really enjoyed the fiddle player on roller skates. Lots of "skin", fair amount of "killin".
Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I have it on DVD and watch it maybe once a year. I agree with Boulder Canyon Bob, but it is entertaining occasionally. After all ain't that why we watch most of this "fictional" stuff, it sure isn't a documentary
Deacon Will Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Long movie...I think they were trying to make it appear to come off as a sort of documentry. Roller skating scene was expensive to produce as I understand it. Worth watching at least once.
Badlands Beady Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 It's officially the movie that killed United Artists. Just one example: the entire cast and crew were flown to London to film a scene hat lasts maybe 15 minutes at the very beginning of the movie, and could ave been cut entirely without hurting the film at all.
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Yup... the Roller Skatin' scene was fun. Who wouldn't enjoy a fiddler on skates~? (I think mebbe they shoulda done the "Chicken Dance" instead! )
