Rip Snorter Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 If you aren't into wine, unwind a wire hangar. It usually does the trick.
Blackwater 53393 Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Clean ‘er up and drag out the corkscrew!! Powers is too good to be wasted!! I’d gouge the cork out and pour it through a strainer before I would let that go to waste!!!

A "rabbit" corkscrew removed the fragment easily, and one of the wine bottle plugs fit nicely, so enjoyment was only delayed a few moments. Not a tragedy, just one more frustration.

Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103 Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 From the angle (or my bifocals are about worn out from looking through them so much), it looked like the top of the bottle's neck was broken off at cork level. Optical delusion, sorry.

Wild Eagle Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 I'm hoping that when the cork came out your day improved a bit. And now I have a new "quest". I must find a bottle of Powers to try. So many whiskeys, so little time. Life is so unfair.

It's very smooth without strong or distinctive tastes... it just slides down easily and pretty soon you grateful for the Irish!

God made whiskey (Jamesons, Powers, Red Breast, Bushmills etc.....) to keep the Irish from ruling the world.
