Nope, not gonna do that.  If they stop me to inspect my cart, then I'll swing it over to Customer Service and return all the items.  That way they'll know I paid for everything.  And I won't go back.

But that's me and my hard head.

BS

I like your way better than mine.  I'll use it if you don't mind.  Hell, Son, I'll use it whether you mind or not.  That's me and my hard head.

Thanks.

Wow, that's way too much energy to waste for me. I'll just show them the receipt and be on my way. They hardly ever stop me anyway and the couple times they did they were nice about it. They're just doing their job and I kinda feel bad for them because they must go through a lot of grief!

Several years back I was up in Atlanta visiting my daughter. We went to Walmart and bought a bunch of groceries. On the way out of the store we were stopped, and the woman wanted to see our receipt. I let this happen because I was so shocked. Out in the parking lot I asked what that was all about and my daughter just nonchalantly explained that "that's the way they do things here".

The next time we were leaving Walmart and they attempted to stop me and ask for my receipt I didn't slow down, I just said get the f*** out of the way.

Everything in that buggy, including the receipt, was mine, and I don't care what their job was, they don't have the right to do that.

I ignore them if they are off to the side, and if they are in front I tell them to move, but I do not slow down.

If someone was hired by the city to go down the street and throw water balloons full of paint on the houses, would you stop them? Would you not allow them to throw a balloon full of paint on your house? They're just doing their job.

They're just doing their job. And then came the boxcars.

Ha ha checking receipts at Walmart is a lot different than throwing balloons full of paint at your house! Those people are hired by Walmart not the city. I fail to see your analogy.

You fail to see it?

You said that we should let the people at Walmart check our stuff because "they're just doing their job".

So I came up with the stupidest most outrageous extreme example of somebody "just doing their job".

And you don't see it? It doesn't matter who hired them. Walmart or the city. It doesn't matter what they were hired to do - check your receipts or throw paint balloons. You should accept it because "they're just doing their job".

TSA. I haven't flown since the early 2000s, so I don't know what they do, but I hear that they give you very very personal frisks.

Should you get upset when you see the TSA guy over there with his hands roaming up and down your 5-year-old's body? He's just doing his job.

I don’t see it because it’s a private business and I can choose not to go there, your other examples are totally different!
You have a point about TSA but I don’t fly so it doesn’t bother me at all.,

It’s kinda like when the horseless carriage came along and the wagon and buggy makers were being slowly edged out of their jobs. Oh well, time marches on!

I've been to Walmart hundreds of times and have been stopped once.

I almost always use the self checkout, grab bags and bag the stuff at my car...this day wasn't any different. I rang the stuff up, paid with a credit card, grabbed the bags and headed for the door.

I had the empty bags, groceries, a case of beer and some motor oil in the cart and was stopped by the "door checker" who was a middle aged black man wearing the blue Walmart vest. He asked me for the receipt.

Prior to this day, I had never seen anyone be stopped at the door. I asked "When did they start doing this?" He said that they were checking receipts for anyone with unbagged items. I was annoyed, but handed him the receipt. Just then a young black man wheeled his cart by me with several cases of beer in it and nothing else. The door checker said "Have a good day" and nothing else and the guy wheeled his cart out the door and into the parking lot. I snatched the receipt back and in a loud, angry tone of voice said "Oh, you only check the White people...I see how it is." He started to say something else but I told him to "F*** off" and walked out the door.

I rarely go to that Walmart anymore but when I have, I haven't seen him again.

As far as McDonalds (Burger King, Wendys, KFC and Taco Bell also), I refuse to eat that crap they try to pass off as food. The last time (about 9 years ago) I got a double cheeseburger from Burger King, the bun/patties were just a little larger than a silver dollar. The only fast-food type place I'll eat at is Arby's, WaWa's and Hardee's (breakfast only) and that is only on very rare occasions.

It's because in Atlanta, Walmart and other stores are being targeted by the shoplifters and squatters and they now have to have an employee at the exits just to verify that legitimate purchases were made.....

I don't have much of a problem with that. The employee is just doing their job.

What do you think they are checking your reciet for, to see if you stoled anything.

I keep a tissue in my shirt pocket. I fold my receipt and put it in the same pocket. If they ask, I tell them my hands are full, but they can get the receipt out of my shirt pocket next to my Kleenex.  No one has taken me up on the offer.
