Blind Squirrel
The Mrs is trying out cowboy shooting. She is having a difficult time loading up her 1873. I've seen people use a sort of "speed loader" where you easily shove all 10 rounds in with very little fuss. Can someone direct me to a place where I can purchase one of these? Thanks.
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971
Long Hunter Shooting Supply sells Speed Loaders. Perhaps that is what you saw.
Shawnee Hills
Came here to mention Longhunter's speed loaders but have also noticed that some make their own. Haven't inspected them carefully but it appears to be a length of PVC pipe with a dowel rod as a pusher. They work very well.
Abilene, SASS # 27489
Shotgun boogies "66-style " loading gate for the '73 makes it easier to load also.
Stump Water
Not a "speed loader", but the Mrs has pushed many-a-round into her 73's using this. Get the round started into the gate with one hand push it in with the pusher. She can load ten faster than I can w/o it. It's a wood finial drilled to accept the dowel. 45C round for size reference. Might have $1 invested.

Recently passed it on to a new shooter (I'd never used it). Edited April 27 by PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L add photo

Lead Monger
Recently installed two of Shotgun Boogies 66 style loading gates. They make a huge improvement in slipping cartridges into an Uberti 73 rifle.
