  1. Intersport performance is a known scammer. If he’s contacted you about this CZ then he’s attempting to hijack the listing for your money. You’re wise to be suspicious and telling him to pound sand. I’m currently attending RO classes but would be willing to send you a picture with the CZ that includes my SASS badge when I return, if that would help. I’d be contacting you through PM.
  2. Sounds like the timing may be off. Definitely give Joe at PGW a call. If you're handy with tools, and understand how it's supposed to work, you likely can fix it yourself. If not, however, it's probably best to heed HC's advice and send it to Jim. Shouldn't need to chew on the carrier to get it to cycle. Case in point; installed a PGW super short kit last week and didn't have to touch the carrier beyond placing it in the rifle.
  3. Please contact me through PM. Shipping included to CONUS. We can work out payment following contact. Not interested in any trades. SOLD - CZ Sharp-Tail Coach (not a cutdown bird gun), 12 g., 20" barrels. I bought this from Longhunter a couple of years ago and shot it for the better part of a year. Like new condition with only very minor blemishes in the wood. It is as it came from Longhunter with the exception of the extractor which I reprofiled to allow quicker loading. $995 shipped with insurance in factory case. One felt cover was missing so T shirt will take its place. Stock cover included. Stoeger Coach, 12 g., 20" barrels, in like new condition. This was the shotgun that I started with and replaced it with a CZ within a few months. Chambers have been honed, mouths reprofiled, factory bead replaced with a #4 brass bead, safety deactivated, firing pins replaced with pins from Longhunter, and lever spring replaced (don't remember from who). Action locks up very tight and opens easily. Slight dents in the wood behind wrist from practicing with snap caps. $595 shipped with insurance in factory case.
  4. Just judging by the clubs that I shoot with, I would have earned a P and likely a miss on that stage. Now, I'm not complaining about those clubs at all. It's just the way it is and I enjoy shooting with them. But I digress. Want to make this even simpler? 10 falling rifle plates with a dump plate to the side. 5 pistol plates with a dump to the side. Pistols are shot first with all plates KD and any extra rounds put on the dump. Rifle plates are KD with the rifle with any extra rounds put on that dump. Any plates already down are . . . well . . . down. Lucky shooter. Only plates left standing or misses on the dump are counted as misses. Finish with shotgun. Next shooter.
  5. Still think there's a miss and a possible P on the rifle targets but will bring this up at our upcoming ROI & 2 classes. Interested in what @PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L and TW think about this.
  6. The OP's statement clarifies this, I think. It reads: The first three rounds knock down the first three targets. Shooter misses the fourth target with the fourth shot. Shooter re-engages the fourth target, knocks it down and then knocks down the remaining targets. According to this, we know that the shooter reengaged the fourth target again after missing it the first time. Not sure how that cannot be a miss but I'm not looking to penalize anyone either. As long as the calls are consistent with all shooters, it likely matters not . . . so long as the match is a monthly.
  7. Seems like "With rifle, engage the 10 rifle knock-down targets" covers that. I read it as all 10 rifle targets are to be engaged with one round each from the rifle . . . provided that it was to be loaded with only 10 rounds and no reload allowed. In the case of the already downed plate, then the shooter must shoot "where it was". Since the shooter did not do that then it seems like he/she earned a miss. Since no makeup was allowed, via "With rifle, engage the 10 rifle knock-down targets", then it appears that a P would have been earned as well. The pistol run was clean. At least, that's how I'm reading it. May be right, may be wrong, but interested in how this shakes out.
  8. Depending on the size needed to correct the runout, another option would be to rebore the hole and install an oversized base pin. Of course the holes in the frame will need to be enlarged as well.
  9. Given how unreliable the USPS has been lately, it’s a bit of crap shoot whether the application actually arrives or not. Much better chance of success by using a good on-line system.
  10. Not all shooters know where bigger shoots are held. It is frustrating to see a shoot announced with no location information except for the name of the club. As someone considering traveling to away matches, it's a bit of detective work to find the actual location. That only works if the club has a presence on the web and their page actually has that information. If folks can't find what they need then they'll never come. This reads a little like grumpy old men complaining about lazy teenagers; which has been going on for generations. Although it may not be completely incorrect, it's a bit of a slap in the face for the young shooters that are, or may become, interested in this game. Let us not forget that some may be reading these posts trying to decide if they want to engage.
  11. Sure is. My mistake that I should have caught simply based on the price. I just spoke with Michelle and she currently doesn't have any levers in stock. She expects to restock at the end of the week so check the website afterwards.
  12. Look here: https://mayhemsmerc.com/shop/ols/products/ray-heartless-cosmetic-button---3-metal-finishes/v/RAY-HRT-STN-STL. Shows just a few left.
  13. Reading through this thread, it seems as though the written instructions stated one thing and some PMs were stating something different. Perhaps there was a last minute change that was communicated to the PMs on walkthrough that didn’t quite sink in with a few? If so, that’s unfortunate but understandable how it could happen.
  14. Fair points for sure. Unfortunately, it appears like some PMs didn’t take the match that seriously. How is this to be avoided in the future? Match directors can only give so much ‘direction’ and cannot police everyone at all times. I wasn’t there and don’t have a dog in this hunt either. Just trying to learn and understand how things like this happen and how it would/should be corrected.
  15. Seems like there was a breakdown in communication. Just my opinion (and worth only what you paid for it) but the change, or additional clarification, probably should have been posted at that position. However, at the end of the day, did it cost anyone prize money or decrease the fun in any way?
  16. How were the long guns directed to be staged in the stage instructions? Unless I am mistaken, that would serve as the ‘final answer’.
  17. One of the best things I ever installed on a 550 was a case feeder. Works great and really speeds up the reloading of pistol rounds.
  18. So I've had my Cimarron 87 for a bit but work keeps getting in the way of my fun. Finally had a chance to take a close look at the thing and my non-shooting review follows. I won't be including any pictures because it looks just like the one Deuce reviewed. The fit and finish of the gun is very good. The metal appears to wear a parkerized finish and the wood is nicely fitted. It came coated with oil but not to the point of being obnoxious. Cycling of the action is suprisingly smooth. I'm sure that it could be slicked up better but it's really not too bad out of the box. I could just fit 5 of my handloaded dummy rounds in the tube with another 1 on the carrier for a total load of 6. The trigger pull was a pleasant 3 lbs. 2 oz. and was consistent across 5 readings. Trigger break was very good with very little creep. The trigger is not of 'precision rifle' quality but I wasn't expecting it to be. It IS a shotgun, after all. Ejection was a bit stout but it's my understanding that it is with 87s anyway. Still, I'm betting a little buff and fluff would make it better. For the money it cost, I'm happy with it. 1887s have always intrigued me but I've been unwilling to spend >1k for one. This offering allowed adding an 87 to the collection without the wallet screaming. It will probably see a match at some point but not one where I hope to be competitive. I'll stick with the doubles for those. Those interested in this are probably wondering if I have any regrets about the purchase and if I would do it again. The answers are "no" and "yes". Unless you're an 1887 purist, I suspect you'd be satisfied with one too. No, I don't have any affiliation with Cimarron or any Chicom business.
  19. I've had three pairs of Piettas that had oversize bolts needing fitted to the cylinder notches. One pair were GWIIs and the others were Frontier. Granted, three is a very small sample size but it's been my understanding (based on posts from folks that work on them) that it's fairly common with Piettas. Thankfully it's an easy fix.
  20. That's weird. The two CZs that worked on didn't have heads on those particular screws. They were typical set screws that were threaded from end to end.
  21. The factory set screw should be long enough. You really don't have to go much farther than how it was originally installed to get it to work. As long as the screw doesn't run out of internal threads, yer good to go. A drop of Loctite or nail polish works to hold it. If you do need a new screw, any good hardware or farm store should have it.
  22. Make sure that the bottom of the set screw is flat, screw in until it’s slightly snug on the extractor rod, and then back off just enough to allow the rod to move freely. Doing this will allow the extractor to work as intended without interference from the cutout.
  23. I started with TrailBoss in 45C and switched to Winchester 231 when I went to 38s. I ran into position issues with that when switching to new stock so have now gone to TiteGroup. Will be staying with that until these 16 lbs. are gone. Am not experiencing the sharper recoil that some are reporting but I'm only loading 3.4 gr. behind a 125 gr. bullet.
