Folks!!

Schoolmarm and I are pretty much out of the woods.  We have a ways to go, but things are mostly looking good.

I will keep you all posted on our progress and any new milestone as we reach ‘em, but for now, we’d both really appreciate it if you would concentrate your efforts on getting Forty Rod through his illness!

Thank you all again and again for your prayers and support!!

WELLL! Schoolmarm lied!! She said she wasn’t going to cook again for a few days.

While I was gone all day, yesterday, she did biscuits, bacon, and sliced up some tomatoes!  Hatfield brought home a big mess of fried chicken tenders last night.

I had chicken biscuits with bacon, tomato, and cheese for supper last night!

The home health lady just finished rebandaging my foot.  Said it looked good.

Schoolmarm took out this morning and went to the grocery store by herself.  She got there and back without any problems, but she was worn out by the time she got home! It’s good to see her finally starting to push it a little!!

Home health changed my bandages this morning and checked out the incision.  Said it was looking good.  Hopefully, come Wednesday, the doctor will sew it up for good!

A little closer to the goal this morning!!

I made my morning appointment with the foot doctor and she was all smiles when she finished her examination.  She grabbed her suture kit and put four stitches in what is now a completely closed incision!!  She removed the seven stitches that were put in at the time of the surgery and applied steri strips and new bandages!

My next appointment is two weeks from today, at which time we will see if I can get new footwear and start walking around again!!

Schoolmarm is almost completely back to her cantankerous self today!!  She had me stop for coffee and French toast on the way home from the foot doctor and then again to get lotto tickets!!

It ain’t back to normal yet, but we’re closer!!

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!!

Oh! By the way!

Imis shot the mid-month match at Wartrace last weekend!  Said he had some pain, but no problems, (except for an SDQ on the the last stage) and he’s looking forward to some of the upcoming state matches here in the Southeast!!  B)

We made the trip to Schoolmarm’s PCP this morning for the followup on her hospital stay.

She has lost some weight and as a result, her blood sugar levels have improved to the point that, for now, she doesn’t need diabetic medication.  She has to continue monitoring her glucose and will need to maintain her current weight, but if she can do this, she may not need those meds again!!

Just the latest good news to let ya’s know that your prayers do wonders!!

We both deeply appreciate all of your support and prayers!

Things are slowly getting back to normal around here. Schoolmarm is still struggling a bit with strength and stamina. She tires easily and it takes a while for her to recover.  She’s slowly starting to eat better and she’s even prepared a few meals.

I’m mostly still sitting on my behind, trying really hard to keep off of the foot entirely. When the home health nurse came by yesterday, she examined the incision and replaced the bandage.  She said that it looks very good and appears to be healing well.

We both have several followup appointments with various doctors to make sure that we are still on the right path with medications and remaining treatments as well as diet for both of us and the stuff I will need to protect all the work that they have done on my foot.

Thanks again, everyone!!

Good news.

Now don't go getting mad watching the news and start kicking the TV, doors, etc.

Get better ya old curmudgeon so we can resume picking on you.

OH OK, I'll continue mentioning you in my prayers.
