Madam Mayor wouldn’t know “military grade” if it slapped her upside the head!!

'Definitions Matter'

Assault Weapon = anything used in an assault

Military Grade:

  • Used by a military?  Any?  Ukraine?  Bet some would like a nice AR
  • A quality standard, like Mil-Spec
  • Current Spec for US Military

Does he mean:

  • AR Pattern Rifle/Pistol?
  • AK Pattern Rifle/Pistol?
  • Ruger 223 'Ranch Rifle'
  • Remington 1100 Shotgun
  • Any Semi with a detachable mag over 10 rounds?  Say a 1942 30 Carbine?

And does he really think he will be able to do it or is it just another salesman going thru the talking points that he thinks will sell?  Polling data says......

And what has he done to curb crime in his town during his last term?  Told the Police not to 'create problems'?

Where does he live and what is his security?  He pays or the taxpayer?

City dwellers need to get fed up with these mayors.

Like I said, maybe just a political stunt.  See he can now say he tried to reduce killing without actually doing anything.  And in addition he can blame the mean Republican pro NRA AG and the NRA for murders in his peaceful well run city.

I'm just guessing here, I'm not going to take the time to research the political party of the AG in MS.

It is no different than foreign dictators blaming the USA for their problems.  Need a boogie man.

Stl Mayor is a she and we have State preemtion for firearm laws.

Also note some of her private text mssgs were released after a FOIA request and in private to paraphrase she notes that gun control doesn't stop crime because criminals don't care about the law but proposing gun control is the party line.

Ouch, she is going to get quoted a lot on that.

And yet she did unconstitutional posturing while not caring about solving a problem just getting reelected.

What a great example of THEM.  And I'll bet she lives in a nice gated community with security....  But she is for the little guy.....

Perfect read of the situation.

She knows it will do nothing but buy her some free media exposure, as well as her social media base.

It's the current trend. Pass (or suggest) an unconstitutional law that will most likely not pass a judicial review. Then when it fails you can save face among your fellow pearl clutching pals.

Just like the mayor of Chicago blaming auto makers for the rise in car thefts.

Chicago mayor mocked for suing automakers for car thefts: 'Criminals running rampant' but it's a 'Kia problem'

Mayor Brandon Johnson has sued 2 automakers for lack of theft prevention features as car crimes surge 104%

The city of Capone.

Will the last person leaving please turn out the lights?

When all real business leaves a city what is left?  Government and unions passing $ back and forth?  COVID has shown us we really don't need these big office buildings.  Going to a ball game is too expensive in $ and risk.

The politicians are busy trying to figure out how to redistribute taxes from the rural and suburban areas to support these incompetents.

My rural taxes went up 20% this year and education taxes another 22+%. That'd be a pretty nice Sharps!
