Talk about your RAPID INFLATION

Or would that be rampant?

If you find something at Amazon and you put it in your shopping cart, but you don't buy it that day because it doesn't cost $25 or more so you would have to pay shipping. So you just leave it in your cart until you find something else you want and if the two of them are more than $25 then you buy that and they pay shipping.

And if you have stuff in your cart, just about every time you go look at your cart there will be a message. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ITEMS IN YOUR CART

And what this is, is it tells you that the price has gone up on something, or maybe the price has gone down. Or they are sold out of that thing.

I noticed this one doohickey I had in my cart seemed to be increasing in price, so I started logging it.

$5.53 (this is not what it cost when I first put it in my cart - I think it was 5.40 something - but it was the cheapest price when I first started logging), $5.59 10/20, $5.62 10/21, $5.65 10/21, $5.71 10/23, $5.74 10/23, $5.77 10/24

In 5 days this five and a half dollar item has increased 24 cents. 4.3% increase in five days.

Amazon recently cancelled an every third month scheduled order of mine, saying it was no longer available.  Brach Starlite peppermint discs.  I bought a 500 piece bag every three months for years for around $11 per bag.

When they cancelled my order, they immediately began sending me notices that a new product was available.  A 375 piece bag for only $21.90 per bag.  Same candy, smaller bag and higher price.

Bought a bag of chicken feed yesterday at Tractor Supply.  Sixteen dollars and twenty-nine cents for a forty pound bag.  Just over a year ago that bag was around twelve bucks.

Might not be so bad if this was an isolated situation.  It ain't.

But not to worry!  Remember ~ Uncle Joe tells us that "Inflation is transitory!"  silly

Alpo, was it a gallon of gas?

Actually it's a clear plastic Shield that goes behind the light switch plate. It helps to prevent greasy handprints on the walls.

They have them in both single and in double. Unfortunately I also need two triples, but they don't seem to make one that big.

They are a very handy little doober. There are two of them in this house (have I mentioned that this is the house I grew up in?) They have been on the hallway light switch and the small bedroom light switch as long as I can remember.

Periodically I would look for more of them in a hardware store or Lowe's or something like that. Never found any. Then it occurred to me to check Amazon, and they have them, but I need three doubles and seven singles. I figured I would pick them up one or two at a time, when I needed 4 or 5 dollars to bring my purchase up to 25 so I can get free sshipping

Looks like I need to clean that hallway switch plate, don't it?

Proxy wars. Military industrial complex. Xenu said so. Lots of reasons. Take your pick

My 99 cent burrito is $1.29 now so by my math inflation is around 30%

There's this movie I want. To buy a copy of the movie is $27. But to buy this package of four movies - one of which is the movie I want - is much less. So I have the movie in my cart. The four pack of movies.

Quad set $14.90, $15.51 9/28, down to $14.90 9/29, $14.94 9/30, $14.90 10/2, $14.78 10/3, $14.81 10/4, $14.77 10/6, $14.90 10/19, $14.94 10/20, $14.98 10/21, $14.90 10/21, $17.93 10/23, $18.02 10/24

As you can see, it started at $14.90. it has been as low as $14.77, and as of yesterday it was $18.02. $15 item increased $3 in a month. That's 20%.

Just went and looked. The switch plate has increased six cents since yesterday. That's another 1% increase.

On the other hand, the replacement inertia bullet puller, which went up $3 on a $12 item (that's 25%) just decreased a buck and a half. So now it's only $1.50 more than it was when I put it in the cart. Yay.

Inflation started with all the giveaways during the Covid stay-at-homes.  Money for nothing gets the ball rolling.

I'm still waiting on the "Chicks for free" part.
