What is this rotating on the Y axis stuff?  Maybe a short tutorial would help.

Why? :P

The X axis runs left/right

The Y axis runs forward/back

The X axis runs up/ down.

I know what they are.  How do you rotate the photo in your post?

That's why Subdeacon Joe said "save". If you save it in your computer, you can rotate it in the viewer and see it both ways there.

And I called it out specifically because, knowing this motley crew, people would rotate it every way but the right way.  :D

Try control-alt-down arrow. Works from Windows 7 and later, except no longer works in Windows 10. Assuming your hardware supports it.

Oh, and now that I think about it, you might also want to know about control-alt-up arrow. :D

I figured some of you smart guys would know how to do it.  But, I have a Mac.

No keyboard shortcut, here is how to do it on an Apple:

https://www.supereasy.com/how-to-rotate-screen-on-mac-easy-steps/

You could create an automated task and assign a shortcut, just don't step on an existing shortcut you might need.

Here are existing Apple shortcuts:

And an introduction to the automator:
