It's in 45 70, lucky that way I can afford to feed it. Haven't named it, got a feeling though it's named Bruce.............as in my shoulder feels real "bruced."

Only if you have to feed it, and want the easiest availability of ammo and don't want to handload an odd-cartridge. OTOH, if you like to develop odd loads, anything but the .50 caliber can be formed from .45-70 brass.  For the .50's you need .348 brass.

But, he's in good shape with a .45-70!
