Marlin Parts

Recommended Posts

Was online looking for some Marlin 1894 parts. Nothing major, just some small screws, ejector, extractor, etc. that can get lost easy or fail during a match.

One supplier asked if the Marlin was made before 2009. I didn't know there was a cutoff year.

So I started looking for a site to run my serial number to get a manufacture date. Can't find that either. One I found would not go later than 2002.

Sooooo, any help on the serial number, and part source would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dom

One quick way to determine what parts for what gun is look for the “JM” on the barrel. The JM would denote a Marlin built in 2008 or earlier.

Just a thought.

Good call. Completely slipped my mind. Been forgetting a lot lately. Sunday I was looking for a pair of jeans. Turned out I was wearing them.

Just trying to get used to a house with no dog. Much too quiet.

Thanks Pat. I used LawmanMark's link (got it at the same time a buddy emailed me the link).

Looks like the Marlin was born in 1983.

Thanks everybody!

First place I looked. Their Marlin 1894 page said:

All parts listed in this category are specific to the Marlin Model 1894 rifles made post 2009 unless otherwise noted. These will have a "REP" proof mark on the right side of the barrel. It is recommended that all parts be fit by a qualified gunsmith. Please scroll down for a complete list of all parts available.

Since mine was made in 1983, I figured I needed to look elsewhere.

Depending on part, many will Interchange.

What are you looking for?

ejector, extractor, lever screw, mag tube end cap screw, etc.

Just want to have some parts on hand that are:

a, get a lot of wear and tear and breaking would disable the gun, or

b. are small and could easily be lost during disassembly at a match.

Not looking to fill a tackle box with parts, just a few just in case.
