Perhaps not rapid by our modern terms, but when you put it into persctive of what other firearms were available at the time, this thing looks like a gatling gun! Did they mention that it came with two different barrels, so you could shoot two different kinds of bullets? Round ones at Christians. Square ones at infidels and Saracens.
