SalinasKid
My Rossi lever '92 wii regularly eject both the just shot round an the unshot round next in line to be loaded in the chamber. This obviously leaves an empty chamber at the end of the lever cycle. Any thoughts or guidance on a fix?

Deuce Stevens SASS#55996
Sounds like your cartridge guides may have to be shimmed. Not terribly uncommon for that rifle in that caliber.
Griff
If you're halfway mechanically inclined, get Nate's DVD, it'll describe the work necessary to make your '92 more reliable. If you're really good mechanically and can handle things on your own, check out Marauder's Rifle Tune-ups for the Cartridge Guide adjustment Duece mentions. Both the DVD and Marauder's site have other suggestions for tuning the mdl '92 Rossi.
Brooklyn Slim
If your rifle is as delivered, and has not had an action job, Rossi should fix it. If someone has attempted to do an action job, bring it back to them. I learned the hard way, Cowboy Gunsmiths for Cowboy Guns.
Jackrabbit Joe #414
Salinas Kid: Had the same problem with my Rossi 92 and used Marauders tune up guide for Rossi 92's and used some shim stock from old feeler gauges and fixed it and haven't had a problem since. Tough part is drilling or putting small hole in shim for the screw that holds guide in place. Very easy to do. Jackrabbit #

Nate Kiowa Jones #6765
None of the above is going to help much if you don't have the right ammo. The original pistol cal leverguns we use were designed to work with bottleneck ammo in the 1.5" to 1.6" OAL using a round nose flat point lead bullet. What that means is they usually don't work well with really long or really short ammo. The most common problem with the shorter ammo in a 92 is the gun will throw out live rounds with theempty's. Or, stovepipe them. This is because the shorter ammo coming on to the carrier from the tube can bounce forward enough so now the rim is too close to the rim slots in the guides and when you lever it fast the carrier just catapults them up and out with the empty. Tom Bullweed
+1 on cartridge length. The left cartridge guide has a flat spring that can be installed backwards (tough but possible) or can be broken. You can replace it if you follow the instructions above.
