Alpo
>the BATFE is now taking the “law” into their own hands, without consent of “We the People”.< Now taking? Where's this guy been?
Hacker, SASS #55963
They have always been outside the domain of the 2A. GCA and NFA are both infringements of Right to keep and bear arms. F in BATFE is also. SCOTUS has never interpreted the word infringe. And Holder is a law breaker.
Utah Bob #35998
Well I guess those WB shooters who want to use their sxs will be able to. Always a silver lining. Until they decide 1911s are too military.
Three Foot Johnson
Until there is a revolution armed revolt massive civil unrest, they'll keep right on "infringing".
J. Mark Flint #31954 LIFE
I think it is pure propaganda and total BS. This came up in early 2011 and it wasn't a ban on ownership, but importation and IIRC it ended up not going anywhere. http://www.atf.gov/publications/firearms/012611-study-on-importality-of-certain-shotguns.pdf

Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363
The ATF has tried using this "sporting purposes" canard before. Thankfully it's never gained any traction, but until it goes away it will continue to devil us. Instead of raging against the wind, I would suggest contacting Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kans.) and Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.), as these are the two gentlemen who introduced and got passed the bill against the UN gun ban treaty. A bill striking out the onerous sporting purposes language in GCA 68 would put an end to this nonsense once and for all.

Yeah - just like the UN small arms treaty wasn't real and people hoped it would go away ..and....2011 wasn't that far off....and I guarantee that if the current administration stays in...guns will be the target ~ ya never know and ya can't bury the head in the sand in hopes these things just....go away. Utah Bob #35998
Eternal vigilance is required. Just be careful of overreacting to things. Even the NRA site sometimes hypes things up a bit much. Careful research will tell you what issues to focus on.
