Yuma Devil Dog Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Sad Day, The Major was one of my original heros ever since I first saw BoB when I was 12. May he rest in peace.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 May he rest in the peace that he sought. Thank you sir, and all the others that served too.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Probably one of the best combat leaders who ever lived. The assault he led at Brécourt Manor is still taught at West Point and the Infantry School as an example of small unit tactics He was a quiet unassuming professional and a shining example of what an officer should be. Rest in peace Major, I will mourn your loss and raise a glass in your memory. Currahee!
Dawg Hair, SASS #29557 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Rest in peace, Major, and thank you and all that like you assured us of the freedoms we enjoy today. God grant us the courage and wisdom to carry on your fight with honor and dignity.

You earned your place in paradise long ago sir but granted us the boon of your prescence to help us become better men and women through your example.
