Ellie Oakley, SASS #45229
Bill and I are so sorry to hear this. Bill Tilghman was a wonderful cowboy who loved shooting, but seemed to love introducing new cowboys and cowgirls to the sport even more. He did so much for cowboy action shooting! Here's a video of Bill from 2004 - I'm working on his memorial page - so his photos will be up later. If anyone has more information about his life, please send it on. I'll never forget his laugh. Phiren Smoke GUNFIGHTER
Sad news indeed. Within minutes of our meeting he gave me advice on some adjustments to fix a problem with the crimp on my shotgun shells. Prayers up. Smoke

Persimmon Dan, SASS #42428
We've lost a good friend in Bill Tilghman. Will be able to envision him shooting with us now. He was always willing to give of himself to new shooters, old shooters,,,,,any shooters. He's been fighting a losing battle, but he is in a better place now. To the Gentry family, I am so sorry for your loss. Please be comforted by knowing that Bill had many, many genuine friends who really cared. He was a "prince" of a guy! We will miss and be thinking of him, too.

SGT. ELI 35882 GUNFIGHTER
Here is some info I have recieved from Bull Skinner. Visitation 3:30-8:00 Wednesday at the Swingel-Odell Funeral home in Neoga, Burial is Thursday at 10. The family would prefer donations be made to Crossroad Cancer Center instead of flowers. Ellie Oakley has posted a video of Bill.
Rev Willy Dunkum, SASS # 61027
I will miss him. He always had a helping hand to give. I'll never forget the big smiles we gave him when we marched into his hospital room after a match, all cowboy'e up complete with the jingle jangle of spurs down the hallway! That really made his day! What a posse of cowboys! He loved it all. Rest in eternal peace my friend.

Railroad Bill 25174 LTG
It doesn't look like we'll be able to make it over to Illinois for the services. Just took off a day from for a family funeral - so I don't believe they'll let me off again. Please pass our sympathies and prayers to Bill's family. He was truly loved - if we can help his family in any way, please let us know.
Deadman Walking, SASS# 42086
I'm sorry that we have lost another good man. He embodied the spirit that fills this sport with friendly, honest people. I became closer to Bill nearing the end of his time shooting with us. He sometimes struggled with aspects of the sport that had not slowed him down in the past. He faced those challenges with the same good humor and perseverence he showed when winning his shooting class, or the match. As the video Ellie posted on YouTube shows, he was a damn fine shooter who competed with the best shooters in the region. I'm only sorry I hadn't known him better. We all travel down the path Bill has taken, and I'll be glad to see him smilin' at me when I can no longer continue on the Cowboy Action Trail as "Deadman Walking" and follow Bill home. God Bless and comfort his family. Deadman Walking, SASS# 42086
