  1. My understanding is that when Colt came out with this rifle, a Winchester representative visited Colt with a single action revolver they were going to manufacture in competition to Colt’s SAA and Colt stopped production. Not sure if the story is true, but I never saw a picture of the pistol.
  2. Ok I was for a press for the .454 and .460 dies I just got and the set you are including would be good to have. So I would like to buy your press and dies. Send me a personal message with the pymt methods you accept and we can get the deal done!
  3. Hate to be critical but every time I look to see what you are selling you pictures don’t show up. Might help sales, at least for me.
  4. Want to buy the 2 canteens - pm sent
  5. Yeah, but then with Gunbroker’s fees, sales tax and shipping they might be cheaper from the retailer suggested above. I looked on EBay and was blown away by how high the prices are now! Last time I looked they were only about $110 - $150! Now they are starting at $150!
  6. And you can always find bond barrels on EBay
  7. Yes he did an engineer. I believe his sin directed it as well.
  8. I love that Gene Roddenberry wrote a lot of the earlier episodes and Victor McLaglen’s son Andrew directed them! We see the between 8-9am on H&I (ch 210 on Xfinity).
  9. Yes, I used to read everything he posted about cap & ball, loved watching him search for items for his collection! Sorry to hear he’s gone!
  10. And I would too, but down here in SE FL, the shops charge more and uneducated buyers pay those prices and the shop owners don’t negotiate. If I found one that did I would give them my business. The other factor is that I have various interests, US military, some antiques, and of course “cowboy” besides self defense and hunting. Our stores are mainly Glock/AR-15 suppliers, not into Glocks and have a Colt AR15 for my wife and me, and an Armalite AR10.
  11. And that’s your choice, good for you! I have found that buying on the internet from dealers and sites like Gunbroker give me a lower price than the local dealers, as I go to get the transfers and check out their pricing. To each his own!
  12. I do! I have bought more than a few firearms and other items. It would be a shame to lose them!
  13. Don’t have my readers, might have missed it but I don’t see a caliber mentioned. And do you have two pairs for sale or did the post duplicate?
  14. If you were shooting in an enclosed, indoor range with no ventilation PERHAPS, but outside, toxic lead exposure? Really? Naw I don’t believe it, and the research is probably done by the same scientists that believe cattle farting causes climate change. yes too much of anything can be harmful, but shooting 100-150 rounds through pistols/rifle over the span of a few hours, outdoors? C’mon! Nope don’t think so, not by my son’s experience either. If it was sooo bad all of us were be suffering from it as well.
  15. I got one of those “Classmates” email yesterday and lo and behold there was a yearbook for Notre Dame High School from 1973, my senior year! And all of you are asking what this has to do with SASS? Well, my Senior year during the Christmas break, mini courses were offered on a lot of fun subjects, including one about firearms with Mr. Greg Duda, our Electronic/Physics teacher. He was the proud owner of a Ruger Blackhawk in .357, with the greatest western rig I had seen! So although this may be moved to the saloon, I am wondering if Greg is/was a member of SASS? My school was in Niles IL, run by the same Holy Cross priests that also run the University in South Bend. So if anyone knows Greg Duda, let me know? I am 69, figure he would now be mid to late 70’s. Thanks again.
  16. Just a suggestion, you might want to add a price and if shipping is included or separate. I looked a couple of times and didn’t see it but am without my readers.
  17. Agreed as I also shoot .44spcl, but you never know the over all length (OAL) needed until you try. But it could also be a chance that if you shorten the mag tube spring they would fit. However I was talking more about the.45 Colt models as they are next to .357 in popularity. Still loading on the clock isn’t bad if you really like the rifle!
  18. And 10 round magazines! Most of these new lever guns are coming in 9 round tube magazines. Perhaps a shorter magazine spring would get them the 10th round in the mag, but, again if the shooter really wants to shoot it and is ok loading one from the belt to get to 10, I say go for it!
  19. Boy do I feel foolish I just responded to 2.5 year old post! Well if it’s old news it’s old news. And I think Phantom’ ok, but we just have our differences of opinion on certain topics. However I still and will miss all of the people posted! As I said I learned a lot. Unfortunately Big Ed passed on. I meant in outside of Tombstone and ordered two “Duke” style holsters for my son’s Colt Nebraska Commemoratives and then in Old Tucson Studios where he had opened a shop! I consider myself a big man at 6’1” but I had to look up to Big Ed! I remember the rest in your post from way past too. For those of you missing Phantom, he and I spar occasionally here on the Wire. He is back unless I got the wrong Phantom we do miss all of their wisdom! I learned a lot from the lot of them!
  20. Thanks for posting your website.
  21. You know it’s like art, it is only valued at what other people will pay for it and since there are a lot of people who value Colt Signature guns more than Uberti of the same model pistol or in this case rifle, they kind of are entitled to their opinion. I got you, you don’t value it hirer but don’t criticize the ones whe enjoy collecting 2nd & 3rd generation Colt pistols. I started with the 3rd gen Signature models assembled by the father of the man running Henry rifles and they were beautiful and well put together!! I sold those to afford the 2nd gen ones and then bought the cases and accessories( some Signature kits) to go with the 2nd gen pistols and other than the “signature” on the bullet mold or nipple wrench you can’t tell the difference! So I appreciate your opinion on there not being any difference between Ubertis and the “Colts” but if others disagree and do value them more, respect their opinion as well. I would love to get a Colt 1861 musket for my collection and to represent my great, great grandfather’s service in the 1st Ohio volunteer infantry, even though they supposedly used 1842 muskets. I am happy with the 2nd gen pistols I have and do value them more. They will be a legacy to my son and his heirs to follow
  22. Just need w noticed that I have contacted you about 2 different pistols and have had any success in getting you to answer about the P250 or the North American Revolver. Would be interesting to find out what the deal is. 954-557-8571 if you wouldn’t mind
