  1. How do you get it to a match, assuming it is used as a gun cart?
  2. Try calling them. Since the company was sold and moved to Fl the web site isn't very user friendly. (860) 435-8068
  3. I remember one of the early Chronicles had an article by Bob Munden detailing all he did on his action jobs. It had to have been around 40 years ago, or so. As Larsen said good memories and good information.
  4. There's a load for 38 Special using CFE Pistol propellant on the Hodgdon web site. Minimum loading is 5.2 grs, which results in velocity of 1,044 fps. Seems a little too hot for CAS, but it will work.
  5. They stopped running, so he did as well. My first Boxer used to chase the deer at the Monmouth battlefield, but never caught them. She did like to roll in their droppings though.
  6. Midway has it at $150 /50. I don't know if the packaging is new.
  7. It's even worse, in the long run. The City Council overrode the Mayor's veto of a bill that will require police to document almost every contact with a citizen. The end result of that can be described as follows from a piece in the NY Post: " The law will waste valuable NYPD time filling out pointless forms describing each of 7 million yearly interactions with the public — when cops should be out protecting New Yorkers and fighting crime."
  8. Its warming up here in MN, but cloudy and sort of depressing. So I put the Rough Riders movie on the DVD player. I haven't seen it in years, but it is still a good show. Good combat scenes and the tight filming of individual actors really brought the danger of the battles to life. Weaponry for the most part was accurate, even to the one inch Hotchkiss revolving cannon gun, and Gatlings use. Colt 1895 machine guns and Maxim guns, plus some Krupp field pieces and Krags were in evidence.
  9. I had Army length grips on my USFA 1873 pistols for several years. They originally came with the standard Navy style grips, which I replaced with Army style grips (Uberti), including a trigger guard and back strap to fit the grips. I bought them from VTI Gunparts and installed them on the USFAs, which have the same dimensions as Uberti pistols. I reverted back to the original grips and sold the Army grips to a pard. If you don't want to go that route, you can contact Texas Grips (texasgrips.com) who sell extended grips for single actions that are 1/2" longer than the grip frame.
  10. It looks similar to one that Cabela's sells. A pretty heavy case, and wheels make it easier to move around. I don't have the measurements handy, but it is oversized and I know it will not load onto an airliner hold as it bigger than the maximum allowed.
  11. Like the books, the show takes a lot of liberties with facts.
  12. Had one, which was renewed several times. Don't need one now.
  13. Very little snow in this part of (south central) MN, but cold. The high today -1 dropping to -7 tonight. Worst part is my truck's battery or starter or both died. The truck is 8 years old and is garaged except for two nights last week. I think the battery is original. On the other hand, my wife's 2002 VW that has been sitting in the garage since October (except for a couple of days when I drove it), started right up.
  14. Yep. Look at the custom shop services on the Colt's Manufacturing web site. They will inspect your firearm before they start work on it, or return it without any work being done. Engraving starts at $1,650 up to $13,000 for a signed master engraved piece, unless you want an exhibition piece then it's P.O.R.
  15. A lot of that depends on the price. Expensive guns that are engraved with the previous owner's name or SASS number can be very difficult to sell, unless the name or number is well known such as SASS #1. I know of a bunch listed to be sold and, so far, no takers. Also, adding a couple of thousand dollars of engraving on a gun that sold for maybe half the price of the engraving seems like adding "silk" to a sow's ear.
  16. Do it the NY way. Stop the driver and give him $20. He'll probably push the load down the road.
