  1. Well I didn’t quite get it done today but these new pictures should give you an idea what you’re buying tickets for. A few more hours tomorrow and I’ll post the finished pictures.

  4. 13 days ago I returned a defective Ridgid 18v hammer drill for lifetime warranty repair. Their web site had issues so I spent over 4 hours on hold getting the shipping label. The gearbox let go! Got it back today with even a brand new chuck on it! The old chuck was fine but all gouged up from working in close spaces! No charge! The second miracle was with TracFone again to get my phone working. Haven't called in over a year as I don't speak Pakistani. Anyhow ever since I got the phone over 2 years ago I couldn't connect to the Internet on cell service. The previous calls and AI chat were worthless. Today I decided to try again; after telling AI that I wanted a human, I was transfered. About a 30 second wait and another 15 minutes working with a lady I could somewhat understand, she sent me to a tech guy. Worse language issue, but he looked into a couple things and had me change the default access info which was the same as on the wife's phone that has always worked. Changed it to what he told me and drove 17 miles to get cell service and wah- lah it works. Unbelievable!! Probably should have bought a lottery ticket while I was out. Maybe I'll win Yul's cart!

  5. Here it is, a couple of small things left to do after lunch and it’s done. I wasn’t able to get the lacquer that I’ve used on the 80 plus carts in the past because of this states stoopid laws so I had to use a different lacquer and sprayer so I’m a little disappointed in that part, my wife says I’m a perfectionist. Anyway I think it’s a real head turner and whoever wins it will get lots of compliments, in my not so humble opinion. Good luck. I will install the brass kick plate on the back of the carriage below the door, cup holder liners, chest liner and padding on back of the barrel locking bar and it will be finished.

  9. I thought I would inventory some of my stash of .22 ammo. Some of it is old...... darn old. I found a 50 round box of CCI Blazers priced at .97-cents. AND... I found a 50 round box of Winchester-Western .22 LR priced at .89-cents. And I've got some CCI .22 LR in the 100 round packs with a sub $2 price sticker on em. Sure wish I had bought a few cases of those way back in those 'good ole days'. Back around the mid-80's, a friend of mine and I picked up a case (5000 rounds) of Winchester .22 LR at a gun show for $100 even. Of course, back in the mid 80's, my friend and I were lucky to have $100 between us, especially after paying about $6 to get into the gun show in Knoxville. I still feel blessed to have $100 in my pocket.... But my friend has become a multi-millionaire and has been overly kind to me with a couple nice gifts thru the years. He gave me a Like New Remington Nylon 66. Really love that rifle. And, he gave me a darn nice Marlin model 101, which was a single shot .22 rifle that requires the bolt to be pulled back to manually cock the rifle. What is neat about his rifle is that the cocking bolt is shaped like a 'T', which makes it easy to grasp to cock. P.S. - The friend I referenced IS NOT TN Williams. He too tight to give ya anything, BUT..... he has offered me my money back on those .22 ammo. Mighty kind of him, don't ya think? ..........Widder

  10. It was either 66 or 67, I was at Boy Scout Camp and decided I wanted to take Marksmanship merit badge that week. I can't remember what rifles we used. There were four of us in the class and I was the only one that earned the badge that week. I also was the only one who had never shot any gun in my life. In 67 at my first trip to Philmont, I took thr NRA Hunter Safety course (using Remington 513T) at on of the back country camps. I still have the targets......three of them with a dime size hole or less out of the center. The following summer I answered an ad out of Boy's Life magazine to sell Christmas cards. I earned for myself a brand new Mossberg 320B .22 rifle. Mom wouldn't buy ammo so I had to earn money to buy my own. Like I said in an earlier post, I bought Remington long rifle ammo for about 51 or 52 cents a box down at Mill's Hardware store in town. Unfortunately that rifle was stolen back in the early 80's. I did qualify as 50 ft small bore expert at later years in Scout Camp but I was using my own Ruger 77/22. I have a rather large stockpile of 22 ammo that hopefully the grandkids will help me burn up. I bought each of my grandkids a Henry Golden Boy when they were born. We had them all together at Easter so I gave them their rifles. The serial #'s are their initials and birthdate.

  11. Put all the brass in some pillow cases. If you use the embroidered ones the threads on the inside help by adding an abrasive component to the 800 count cotton.

  14. I've shot a 45 Colt Uberti 1873 rifle with BP since 1987. I load between 28-30 grains of either Goex Cartridge or 2F. To combat the fouling that accumulates on the carrier and carrier mortise, I sanded down the sides of the carrier about .010" on each side. I can shoot a 3-day match without bothering to do anything. When I bought my Steel Framed Henry, I couldn't shoot 2 stages without it binding up from the fouling, so I sanded it down also. Now it can run just as long. Same with my newest 1873 Short Rifle purchased in 2014. I mostly shoot a 225 grain bullet cast in a RCBS 45-225-CAV mold. It carries enough SPG lube to keep the fouling soft all the way down the 24-¼" bbl.

  15. I have a collection of 31 watches, about half are battery powered, the rest ate mechanical or inertia watches. I take my battery powered watches in when as they go dead, $7.00 each and it takes about five minutes....longer if I get to "grazing around" the other merchandise (and that ends up costing me more most of the time). Average life once in the watch is 11-13 months. I don't worry about getting the right battery because that's their job. I also get a 6 month warranty so if one does go bad I get a replacement for no cost.

  16. This was in a post about carriers. The newer bolts have wider guides on the bottom and this requires a carrier with a wider bottom slot. Old carriers need the groove to be milled wider to accept the newer bolts. Don't recall if I measured the groove in the frame but logic would dictate that also needs to be larger.

  19. It means your wife is going to kill you and THEN divorce you to boot if you use the washer and dryer to clean brass. If you really want to do brass, use the dishwasher...she'll never look in there.
