  2. ive always shot red dot and clays and will shoot them till i have gone through all mine , a good long time i believe , but if i had known this would nbe an issue id have stocked up on tjis as well , i dont think amy or at least very few saw this time coming
  3. ummm , thats a point of view id not spent time thinking on , ill ponder a bit before i respond id been looking at it as an added incentive to those of us already shooting to add on , it does make sense to add it for those not yet involved - an invitation presa , i do think it would be a nice add on , and im not disagreeing on a separate category or something , a lot of us have them and it might encourage all to shoot them
  4. do thar as well as all the other things suggested you will find 6things coming to you without asking , if i had any extra lether now id offer it , others will , , you dont need much yo start out , you accumulate as you go , acquire , pass down , shire as needed , it doesnt have to be expensive to start - plenty of time to go there later , im not as familiar with your area as i should be but i feel like saying im sorry your not elsewhere - but i know you will make it work there are good folks in your area and you will meet them at shoots , everything will work out fine

  7. It would have been interesting to see what the designers would have done with all the goofball stuff if they had gone further with it, but like he said, what a kludge!
  8. well , im in favor of the eyeball - bolt emmoved on a bolt action as the best , which is what you asked , as to our lever guns ive used my lazer as discussed above - its far from perfect but better than nothing
  9. What's the benefit of clean stainless steel cylinder faces....just cosmetic?
  10. im with you as well , its the right one to carry , does the job and no more than needed
  11. ive always thoght the french revolution was justified but always questioned how it was executed [ see what i did there[ ? [ they just didnt pull it off quite like we did
  12. interesting , never really thought much on them till your post , i may have to do something with mine other than throw it on the closet shelf ,,,,,HMMM
  13. I'd like a Lahti just to say I had one, but I have nowhere to put it, much less shoot it! Besides, I am rather fond of my right shoulder...
  14. I would say it reminds me of a little brass plaque I saw under a TV in an EM club 50 years ago that said, "Don't worry about it, it's in the script." Seriously, no idea. I married my first wife in a Lutheran church with all the geegaws. I married my current wife in the kitchen with her Mom and sister present. The sky pilot had nothing to say to us than, do you? Do you? Good, you're married.
  15. been an interesting read guys and gals , this is a topic to discus at length as its been so obscured by legal maneuvers throughout the years , im glad to see we here are thinking and reading and understanding what it is really - a superb document that was well thought outat the time modified only with all the care that was originally applied to its creation , i see revisions coming in the judicial branch soon as they have overstepped what the constitution allows for political purposes , my faith in that system has drastically diminished but i believe it will right itself soon
  16. me too , but then ive not noticed anyone here really being offensive or saying things that deserve that , just my 2cents here but this is a very civil crowd , i only sytay where thats the case - if not i wouldnt be here
  17. I found a place that has large sized hats. The only cowboy type are more of the Aussie hat style. For baseball type hats some of them range from 7 5/8 to 9 1/4. Bucket hats. English newsboy caps. Derbys. Not all of them are in the biggest sizes but many up to the 8 1/4 size. Lamood big hats.
  18. im in agreement on both honey comb and real butter - we eat regularly when available and dont compromise on the butter , as to the peanut butter im very picky - only skippy creamy not used to be the chunky but my digestive track doesnt like nuts or pieces of nuts anymore - sadly i miss a lot of things over that but ive found other things i likethese days
  19. "....horehound candy came to mind....." thats how i would describe it as well , from the past and not to everyone's liking only know that as i got to try it - im not a fan , ill take a fresca pr an RC please
  20. Do you have the boxes by chance? Does it say Taylors on the barrel?
  21. ive not dabbled in that since high school friend and i were involved but it was fun , id even like to revisit but so much has changed in the last 50+ years i dont even know where to begin , i can still listen on my 1927 atwater kent radio , but im not into listening to dots and dashes much , but the voice stuff is ok , when i can keep it in tune - its an old vacuumed tube radio after all , kinda fun with the grandkids , they cant believe it predates TV
  22. thats interesting - i had to get my first and second marriage annulled [basically pay them a fee and let them snoop in my past] to get married in the catholic church the third time - both my others were i married lutherans and they didnt have all those issues to deal with , im not familiar with the orthadox and i dont know any to my knowledge , will be interesting to hear , i just know the church cost us a lot of money back when neither of us had much because she had to do the same thing with her previous marriage WHAT A RACXKET - BUYING FORGFIVENESS FOR SOMETHING WE NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG IN , but we all have our stories and sore spots , in the end im glad i did what i did its been a very good last 35 years of marriage , i came back to add that i dont regret the first ten even if id never want to relive them - they were an education , i do regret the second eight as they were pure stupidity on my part and crazy on hers , ill leave it at that ax both made for this to be my last ,
  23. i agree , had no idea they were worth that - i just kept my grandfathers lures and some of my dads because i liked looking at them , i didd add a few others and some friends and family added some others , im not a big collector i have a few shadow boxes with some very vintage lures that may or may not have value - i just like looking at them , used to hang on my office walls along with some vintage rods back before i retired , now they fill my home office walls - its a lot smaller and i have no room to add anything anymore
  24. A roommate of mine many years ago came home after a night out at the bars. He lived in a separate little building behind the main house we were renting. He put a couple of hotdogs in a pan on the stove and passed out. It was unbelievable the amount of smoke that two burning hotdogs could create.
  25. That's what they make hand trucks for. Keeps guys from being crippled up when they get older.
  26. Hey, I bought a little thingy that holds up to five eggs and boils them (from really soft to hard), poaches them, and makes several other dishes, and is so simple even I can use it. Cost me about $25.00 IIRC and I use it maybe once week.
  27. I have, in my long ago past, fired Boyes and Lahti antitank rifles using surplus ammo. Both were fairly accurate at 100-200 yards, maybe out to 350, but not much further. Not very impressive. Some outfit in Florida was selling them for a song and a few us got the money together to buy the guns and ammo (Hey! Great name for a magazine.) An Air Force brat in the bunch bought both of them when we ran out of ammo.
