The only way to get all the effects of this film is to see it in theaters!!

I saw it with Schoolmarm and friends on Sunday after it opened and thoroughly enjoyed it.

85” big screen TV and it ain’t near as good!!

I believe I'll pass.  I just can't stomach that much Costner and the reviews don't say anything to change my mind.

Hey , 4T!!

Costner is only in about a third of the scenes and doesn’t even appear at all until the second hour of the show.

There’s some really good acting in the show and you in particular would enjoy the screen writing!!

My friend saw it and said it was boring as all heck! He’s a big westerns fan and cowboy shooter. Everyone has their own opinion. I’ll see it soon…….

I sat through it. I have to say I am very underwhelmed. It goes in too many directions with multiple stories. Hard to get invested in any character. I feel like 1883 did a better job of telling practically the same story. The ending was all over the place and no real cliffhangers that would make me want to see chapter 2.

The first episode sets the stage for the rest of the series. It’s not about any one character at this point. One could choose one or several to follow, OR you can follow the stories and watch each character develop!

I’m reminded of the miniseries Centennial!! There were a number of important characters and the stories all wound their way to a pretty dang good conclusion!!

I look at it like the difference between a comic book and a novel like How The West Was Won. Maybe a movie like Barbie or several episodes like the Star Wars series!  Your choice between Peter Pan or Lord Of The Rings in structure. Lots of great sub plots and character development, great cinematography, and realistic action sequences without all the overblown CGE!!

I just hope that they’ll put the rest of the episodes in theaters!!  It’s way too good to get relegated to rinky-dink television sets!!

Love Centennial! Wore out the tape on the old Betamax back in the 70's and I now own the series on Bluray. To each his own but a good movie, to me, has quoteable lines and scenes. How many quotes can you think of from Lonesome Dove, Tombstone, Dances with Wolves, literally any Clint Eastwood western? ( I can probably quote every line from Outlaw Josey Wales).I can't think of a single line or scene from Horizon that resonated with me. I am a fan of Kevin Costner's movies so this is hard for me to be so critical. Maybe I'll give it a second watch.
