Choctaw Jack
Looking for some non-reloadable 45 Colt cases to build my own snap caps. I would like to have 20-25, but any quantity would be appreciated. Found some at our local range, but I need a few more. More than happy to pay for postage, and a bit for your trouble. Let me know what you've got. Thanks, Choctaw Jack
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Why not use brass cases?
Crazy Gun Barney, SASS #2428
Aluminum makes for a quick and easy ID of snap caps vs live ammo, if you never have the aluminum live ammo around.

That's exactly why I use them. After one close call, these make for easy I.D.

Cibola Al
It’s POSSIBLE that I have a box of loaded Blazer 45 colt. I’ll have to go spelunking in the man shed. If I do, you’re welcome to them.
Eyesa Horg
If ya end up going with brass, stop at a machine shop and see if they have some red DyKem marking fluid and make em red. Just a passing thought!

I'm not sure how good the stuff is for your use, thought of it due it's being so thin and usually only comes off with alcohol. It was just sumpin that crossed the fuzzy brain! Aluminum surely would be nice if you can get em. Good luck!
Sedalia Dave
According to a few muzzle loader forums this works really well. Jax Pewter Black How to apply, https://modelboatyard.com/blackening.html Problem with Aluminum cases is they are not very durable. Especially when cycled through an action multiple times. Choctaw Jack
I drill out the primer hole and superglue a piece of pencil eraser in place to keep the wear and tear on the firearm to a minimum. I also powder coat my bullets (I think the next ones will be either zombie killer green or safety yellow) to draw attention to them. This combined with the aluminum case should help keep me out of trouble. Choctaw

Choctaw Jack
Hopefully the weather will co-operate. That should be our season opener. See you there!

Long term forecast says 60 degrees with mild winds. Here’s hoping. Found the box I was thinking of, I was more excited before I opened it. Oh well, 12 is better than none I guess. Choctaw Jack
That's great, I'll take'em! I actually found a few more at the range, so that helps. Weather sounds good, but who knows, this is still NM. It can change in an instant. Hopefully not. See you next weekend. Thanks!
